Got Screwed Over By Corsair

Hey peeps never thought this would happen but yeah I just got screwed over by Corsair
So I used their new Icue software and it borked 7 of my LED's on my K95RGB and no where did it say at the time don't use this software with the older RGB keyboard models.
After soft and hard resets with a tech via Skype we couldn't fix the issue, so he said because my keyboard is now out of warranty he can't authorize a replacement so he said he'd pass it up the chain.
The answer came back No!
And to rub salt into the wound I'm also going through warranty on my MM800CE and they said they would pay for the return postage, when I took it down to the post office they said sorry this isn't a paid return so that'll be $60 the bloody mat only cost $75, so I said don't worry about it and called Corsair and they said we'll fix it guess what no returns label.
So like Gigabyte before them I shall now no longer buy anything from Corsair nor am I going to recommend them to anyone and if friends or family say they're buying it I'm going to talk them out of it. And I've not bought or recommended Gigabyte for over 10 years.
I didn't maliciously try and damage my keyboard, It's Corsairs software that caused the issue FFS and for the sake of a product that maybe cost them $50 to make they've now lost all goodwill from me. I have a mate who sells PC's by the bucket load and he gets me to select the parts for the jobs and guess who's products won't be going into any of those PC's.
I'm so disappointed it's not even funny :(

"You abandoned me, love don't live here any more".

I think the Corsair now are not the Corsair we all knew and loved.

This is 100% true for me as well.

200 euro keyboard and keycaps made brittle cheap plastic trash, Corsair used to make good but stuff got a lot more covered in plastic and quality going down.

I'd say their memory is still pretty good stuff but that's about it.

They're one of those companies that have grown and now don't think they need to give a S#$% about it's customers anymore

Once their profits start to plummet, And they will, They'll remember that ignoring the little people doesn't end well for any company.

Once corporate rot sets in there's nothing you can do about it. They will just go right ahead and bury the company handing out their bonuses as they go.

Materials on Corsair products changed as soon as they were taken over. To plastic and tat. Everywhere they can cut corners to make more profit they will, that is just the nature of the beast sadly.

Well I just got an email this afternoon saying we have a replacement MM800CE for you so send it back, F-all about the keyboard though, and I said still waiting on the label and they recon they can't send it to the email I provided so can they have another so I've given them it and now the wait begins to see if I get it there.

I'm with you I got their scimitar mouse and it's lasted shorter than my NAGA and G600 did even though I game less than I did with them, when I select white on my K65 alot of the keys are blue instead, I have an Orbweaver that's older and lasted longer and people moan about razer

Well bugger me the UPS label actually arrived in my inbox this morning and the mousemat gets picked up in the morning tomorrow, wonders never cease to amaze!

That's Corsair lost to corporate greed entirely. Once Equity firms, Capital ventures, and whatnot get involved, profit takes precedent over absolutely everything.
I've been contemplating ditching Corsair in future builds since the quality isn't what it used to be but, this confirms it.

The worrying part is that in many cases, equity firms and venture capitals buy these companies and keep them as is while they are making profit. But the moment year on year revenue falls, they consider selling off the company in pieces to make most profit.

Imagine memory division sold off to Kingston, PSU sold off to EVGA, peripherals sold to some Chinese company etc.

But I have noticed that the support is disgusting these days. I never did get my additional fan tray for my 1000D. they took my money and in 3 weeks my friend was there in the states, they didnt do anything with processing the order. And I had a sarcastic response from them which I didnt like.

I'm still pretty ed to be honest even though they've paid for the return shipping I still won't be buying their stuff anymore after what they've done over the keyboard.

First thing that happens to company to squeeze out every penny is cheap/non existent support. Hiring Americans and Brits is expensive, so they usually shift it to India. Even Alienware have succumbed to that now. For a while Dell still had Alienware in the UK, but since down sizing and speccing their cases (and lowering prices slightly) they are now in India.

The software has always been fairly terrible. They expanded too quickly without hiring enough/competent people. I used to knock Razer as overpriced tat but the hardware and software is so much better.
