Got fired

I just got fired by my boss. I worked at this big supermaket called the Albert Heijn XL, and at then end of today's shift my boss asked me if I could come to her office for a sec. So when I get there there she and another guy from management are sitting there at a desk . I could just catch a glimpse of what was on her PC screen before she turned it off. There were 3 names of it, one of which was mine. Then she tells me that my 2 month trial was about to end and that she is not satisfied with my pace of work. Now I KNOW this is a foul lie. I have NEVER had ANY complaints about me not working fast enough. I only once missed my target, and that was when I had to do a 2 man job on my own because a lot of people were ill. I was even complimented on my speed once. The thing is, I went on holiday a week after I got the job, which was totally their fault because I had mentioned this when I applied for the job. That, and the fact that I missed work for a week due to the flu, was probably too much for those dumb ****s to handle. In the end, they couldn't even be straight with me and wouldn't give me a straight up awnser to my very reasonable question: "What's the REAL reason I'm getting fired?" Gotta love big supermarkets eh? (they're by far the biggest in the Netherlands)

Just had to get this off my chest guys.

Oh and this also means: No more upgrades anytime soon. This includes the upgrade to Sandy Bridge I had planned.

It's extra annoying for me atm though, as both my headphones and my mp3 player are broken, and I was stoked that I had finally found a job after looking for one for 1,5 years so I could finally go out when I wanted to and actually purchase the things I need when I need them, and after a 2 month trial they bring up this crap. So I can't go out at the age of 16(to be 17 in march), which is just sad.

At least your still very young. Soooo many more jobs and opportunities to come your way with companies that will appreciate you. It's a mega pain in the arse but you'll find something else soon enough.

You're 16. Don't sweat it. You will get another job soon enough. By the sound of things, I wouldn't wan't to work for such people anyways.

Just get back into school, finish it while you're young...trust me. I'm just starting my education back up at 25 and WISH I would have done things differently.

Now there is some good advice. If you do not feel like educating yourself think about doing voluntary work - yes for free but it shows any potential employer that you did not sit around and do nothing and that you can be bothered to work. You may even get a job with the people you are helping for free.

On a negative side , if you were working for me and were away 2 weeks out of the 8 I would have also questioned your commitment, depends what you said on your application interview.

Back tp positive you are young and things happen for a reason - Karma so to speak, you get what you give

I'm still in high school, and will attend what you would call a university to study ICT after this so no worries there. I get about €30 every month. That's not going to cut it now is it. But I told them in the interview that I was going to go to Sweden and even named the dates that I would be away but they still hired me!

aww dude! someone i know worked for a company that wanted to replace all current staff with the manager's friends and family so they forged phoney abusive emails and used them as an excuse to lay off the 'undesireables' they luckily got out before a bogus message was sent in their name but if they hadn't it would've left a very ugly skid mark on their record. **** happens aye

I remember once being fired from a bar/club in NYC; the guy doing it was so drunk that while he was telling me to take a hike he and his chair tipped over backwards. Needless to say, since it was a bridge and tunnel, and mob joint.. pfft. I got a good laugh and went on to better things. Course, nowadays, the jobs are as plentiful as a virgin priest. Good luck.

That sucks, man. I want a job, I'm 17, but I can't find any jobs around here. Plus, I got so little time for my self too. I go to school, get home, eat dinner, my grandma keeps nagging so much, then I sit on my PC for a while at the same time she's nagging, then I go to bed. This happens 5 days a week. Only time I get to properly rest is in the weekends when I'm away or she's not at home. She's so old school it ain't even funny.
