Google Chrome problem

When I go to load a website it can take up to one minute to load. Sometimes it won't even load up.

I have googled it and have tried what people have posted about deleting the cache and moving it to a new folder.

Also reinstalled chrome and even installed the Comodo Dragon edition. The problem also happens in incognito mode but not as bad.

Any ideas?

Firefox does it also but not as bad as chrome.

Wanting to stick with chrome tho and get the problem sorted.

This wouldn't be one of those naughty websites would it ?

Try deleting your Internet files (History and Browsing Data)
Also what site is it? it may even be the site itself

Could it be a problem with your internet connection in general. Seeing as it also happens in Firefox, I'm guessing the issue may lie with your ISP.

When did this problem start occurring? Did you install a new router or change any hardware recently?

Done that already with ccleaner.

Sites are Facebook, YouTube, mmo champion,
Google searches.

Pretty much any website

Forget CCleaner. Clear all data from within Google Chrome. I've found CCleaner to be inconsistent when it comes to clearing Google Chrome data.

My ISP is virgin which is just one big problem lol.

Only hardware change I have done is to update the firmware on my dlink 615. Using the wrt firmware on it along with the superhub.

I'm with Virgin media as well, so I totally understand.

Did the problem appear immediately after the firmware update or did it start before? Go to the command line and ping a website to check the latency. Post a screenshot as well please :)

I will do once I'm on pc again. Might try connecting just to the superhub and see if that changes.

I'd check your java installation, that can cause delays when starting the browser.

Sounds like the browser is trying to load something, and that something could be something you don't want loaded. I'd also use a program like Wireshark to capture the addresses the browser calls when loading.

I'll uninstall and reinstall java just to rule it off.

What does wireshark do?

Wireshark is a network protocol analyser, a free and very good one. There are plenty of demo videos on youtube to get you started as it can be quite daunting if your not familiar with it and networks.

You will be able see any DNS or ip's your browser is calling when you start it up (start wireshark first before opening a browser).

+1 on Wireshark.

You might turn off any extensions you have running one by one. One may have updated and is behaving badly.

Cleared all data in Chrome.

Also turned off my addons(only using two, Adblock and Youtweak).

Installed Wireshark but I don't understand it. I have filtered HTTP but not sure what I'm looking for. I've also uninstalled Java and reinstalled.

I am using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061 firmware. I have the old f/w backed up so might try going back to that.

Just used IE(first time in years) and pages seem to load almost instant. Facebook loads fine. Youtube loads fine.

Think my PC doesn't like Chrome!

Edit again - Just ran Virtual PC XP mode and have the same problem. Fresh install of Chrome and it happens.... Is this down to my ISP? Think I will factory reset my superhub and see what happens in tomorrow.

Java should be disabled in the browser, there's a major security with it at the moment.

Do you have a personal firewall that's blocking chrome?

Java is now disabled in chrome and the only firewall i use is the windows one.

Try allowing chrome in the windows firewall manually. It may have to make a temporary rule every time you start chrome...
