Good, SILENT 200mm fans

Hey gais. I'm looking to get a good, silent 200mm fan to replace the one that's in the front of my Graphite 600T, as it's a bit loud for my tastes (even at half speed). I was wondering what the popular opinion out there was of good, quiet 200mm fans that are either equipped with white LEDs or no LEDs at all since it seems like the pickings are slim. I'm specifically looking for something that is about as quiet as the Corsair Quiet Edition fans but still offers well balanced airflow characteristics for the lack of noise. There is also the possibility of me using this fan for a 200mm radiator at some point (don't feel like hacking into this particular chassis to house 120mm's in the front). Any thoughts?

The stock fan isn't loud because it barely shifts any air

The sound is mostly turbulence and can be improved by dremeling or cutting away the meshed area in front of the fan.

I put a bitfenix spectre pro in my old 600t. More airflow than the standard fan but obviously louder at the same rpm.

I'll second what NRG is saying. Most of the noise is the air passing through the metal mesh of the case. I replaced both my front 200mm and rear 120 with Bitfenix Spectre pros which improved my temps. Just remember that if you wanna put a spectre pro in the front that you can't have the hard drive cages there or you'll have to mod. Instead you'll have to move it back into the case like i have done (see rig gallery in sig)

yeah, like the 140mm fan market, just not a lot of choices for "good" or "performance"
type of fans. the development just isn't there for 180, 200, 230 and others.

I went with a Cooler Master MegaFlow 200

Like WillSK I have moved my drive Cage for airflow reasons. I'm not sure if the fan will fit with the drive cage in the original location.

Thanks for all the pointers guys. Sorry it took me a minute to get back to you on this one. I have been contemplating once again cutting into the front of the case to accommodate two 120/140mm fans but I'm still on the fence about it. If I did that I'd prolly just go with more Corsair AF silent edition fans since I know those to perform exceptionally well and extremely quiet even at full voltage. Just figured on keeping the front of the case as OEM as possible since I also wanted to try using a 200mm rad for cooling a video card at some point (just to be a bit different, since everyone seems to have a huge boner over 240/360/480 rads).

I've not gone with this because the NZXT 200mm fans tend to only be designed to work in an NZXT chassis since they aren't a full 200mm (at least from what I have seen).

I've been trying to avoid cutting into the front of the chassis apart from removing the mesh since the plan at some point is to use a 200mm rad to cool a video card (since I already have an H100i on the CPU and I want to try something different). The consensus on the BitFenix fans and the CoolerMaster fans seems to be roughly the same as what I have seen lately since most other fans are either too loud to be worth it or hardly move any air. If I DID Go ahead and use 120/140mm fans in the front I'd probably forego LEDs and just go with more Corsair AF Quiet Editions, but I am also trying to retain use of the integrated fan speed controller which is part of the reason why I got this case to begin with (despite the fact that everything is at full speed presently... I just like the concept of having manual, on-the-fly control without it ruining the front face of the case).

There is no such thing as a 200mm fan technically. Anything above 140mm is proprietary. The megaflow and spectre pro will fit though (from experience)

Which has never made sense to me. Especially now that 200mm fans are becoming kind of common in many case designs. Yeah I've seen people mount both into this case all day, but never read anywhere about the audible qualities of said fans short of customer reviews, which are purely subjective to the individual user. Even the opinions in this thread should be taken with a grain of salt, but seeing as there is a general pattern forming with what is and isn't recommended the grain can be tiny indeed.
