Hello All,

I have been watching TTL and visiting the site for a few years. After watching Tom for so long I have been conviced into building my own system and recently done so. Since building the system I figured I should join to get insight as the community is much more knowledgeable then me, and for new ideas.

Forgive me if I don't use the correct protocol. I don't use message boards at all. Actually this is the first one I have joined so forgive me I make mistakes.

It was Saturday ....

Thanks build is going well. So nice to play games 60fps with some settings turned up. I was using my laptop before with a geforce 740m graphics card.... 720p gaming with all settings turned down.

The only problem I got is with my memory. Trying to fix it now.

That's quite the transformation, I've not played a game on a computer since about 2012. Memory issues eh', Ryzen?

Yeah games look amazing now, I can't imagine 1440p or 4K. I am suprised some games like Mass Effect Andromeda even booted and worked.

Worse thing with memory is that it worked first then I changed BIOS and now I got some major problems, not just with speed. I am just researching ways to see if I can fix it.

I'm having trouble with my memory too so it's being replaced form Corsair to GSkill, also I can't remember a damn thing................guess I'm in real trouble huh

I gives me some solace that I am not the only one with memory problems. The worse thing for me is that the momery was fine when I first installed windows. It was working at 3200mhz and windows recognised full 16gb.

Now windows is only recognises 8gb and its running at 2133mhz. Gigabyte and there shoddy BIOS updates. XMP has completely vanished from the BIOS.

The problem is I am not sure if it is the BIOS or memory.

Yeah definitely not good.

I got Ryzen 1700
16gb Trident Z RGB
Gigabyte gaming 5 motherboard. Latest BIOS (f5)

I would revert to the older BIOS but everytime I do the system just freezes when trying to load windows.

I think it is motherboard fault but I am not 100% sure.
