Can someone have a quick look at this build and tell me if it's any good?
Thanks in advance.
The Hyper 212 is just temporary, will be doing a custom water loop.

Looks good to me. What is the rig used for? If it's for gaming you're cheaper off getting the 4670k. Next to no performance difference in games.

Another point to make is that the dom plats are kind of overpriced. I must admit that they look nice but you can do better for the price, like getting an 1866MHz kit.
I feel the same way about the RoG stuff (the motherboard). If you build is just for gaming, you might want to save yourself some money by buying the MSI z87 GD-65 Gaming.

If it's not specifically for gaming, I'd recommend a Gigabyte board. They have an amazing z87 line up for good prices :)

!!!DO NOT!!! get a 780, I've said this so much recently but the price / performance ratio is so bad. with that budget get the 2GB 770 in SLI but get the 4GB cards if you are running multiple monitors or a resolution above 1440p.

Also, if it is for gaming only, save some money and get the i5 4670k which I am guessing it is due to 1600MHz ram. But if I am wrong and it is for rendering and other stuff I don't understand much then yeah get the i7 4770k.

Get some cheaper ram or spend the same amount and get faster ram. Dominator Platinum looks good but you can get the new better looking Vengeance Pro 1866MHz for a little cheaper and can mix and match colors to suit builds a bit more ^_^

Also as for the motherboard ASUS got lost it seems, they failed this time around even if their boards do perform just go with Gigabyte dude, they own this time (coming from an ASUS fanboy, look at my sig now)

but change the z87x-ud5h to the z87x-ud4h, can't see it on part picker but you can get it most places for $185, so take $35 from the price of the build I link. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/17TvV

Total is $1896 but you have 4GB graphics and at least 50% more FPS/Performance, a much better PSU, much better mother board and most of all that 10,000rpm storage drive! Much better to record capture game footage on ^_^

Try to get a bigger ssd. At least 240gb+ would be ideal but IMO go all ssd if possible. Drop the motherboard to something more reasonably priced and drop the ram for the same reason. That case looks ugly IMO and you could get something more reasonable. Case is all personal though. 780 is more ideal than a 770SLI setup and will consume less power which means a smaller psu(and price). Other than that looks good.

Already accounted for the PSU. Chose a better one plus 850W and total build cost was the same ;) with the rig I linked he gets a better MoBo, Ram, PSU, Graphics (at least 50% more performance here) for the same price.

There's no SSD in that build though. It will be used for gaming but also rendering and editing.

I would like to know, why Gigabyte 1150 boards are more recommended than equivalent Asus one?

And @theDTP: why you recommend Z87x-UD4H over Z87x-UD5H?

Asus boards have crap quality versus Gigabyte and MSI.

On LGA new 1150 versions or even with older generations?

I have 2 LGA2011 boards, one with Asus and one with Gigabyte, i am not so impressed of that one with Gigabyte yet, and i still didn't test that one of Asus, but from reviews the one i have of Asus is way better higher recommended over the one i have of Gigabyte despite of that both are 2011, so is it different with 1150 then?

I didn't say they were crap. I said compared to GB/MSI it's crap. Which it is and no excuse for having terrible overclocks with a top end board versus and entry level board. Customer service is also poor.

Good to know, so if i will decide/plan on 4th build and with Haswell then i will not think about Asus one.

We will see when i will use my LGA2011 Asus board once i complete my rig, who knows, it may not be better over my Gigabyte X79 one, if so then i will go with something else rather than Asus for future upcoming build.
