Glossy R4

Really dig the lights. That was only a 1m braid? Any way to show where you taped it? I've got half a mind to do my R4 after seeing that

you really do this case justice the build just looks great and the noctua fans actually looks GREAT in this build, one of the best looking builds with the fans just overall great

470-580rpm... I have a little something for you guys in about 3-4days.
My camera is no more, so I can't update you guys till Feb the 6th.

Can someone tell me why Fractal chose to make the door open the wrong way. I personally would like it to open the other way. If you set the case on a desk and have the window facing you, it seem like it would be a pain to get to the drive bays if needed.

I see your point - but along with all other cases from Fractal Design the R4´s original design wasnt with a window.
Now adding a window to the sidepanel isnt that costly to fit on customer demand, and allows people to get this for about £20. Having to mod the front door and hinges aswell would add atleast another 20£ to the upgrade and would not be smart business for them, especially seeing that nowadays almost nobody has anything in the drive-bays in the first place. For the few that has.....well pain isnt the word i would use...but I see your point.

good point...I would put an ek spin bay res there. I thought it would be nice to prop the door open to hear the waterfall effect that res has. I guess I am just being picky. Anyway im done. I dont want to take away from this build log. Great build btw!

Thanks!

The A14 FLX is kind of loud at 1200RPM. But, it is just the air passing that makes any noise. At 1050RPM, it is dead silent.

Nice!! U really should get your friend set up with an account here at OC3D!
I see an actual glass window?..... I see some nice braided cables....... would like to se more? - yes :)

He's not into this kind of stuff that's going on here at OC3D so, it's very unlikely he'll be making an account here...

That's the original window (plexi) The new camera is making it look like it's actual glass! =]
You'll get more, just be patient, like I said, there will loads of photos!

So, here it is! 99% finished! Only one thing left, and it's still the GPU! Who knows how long it's going to take him to get that GPU!
I had a lot of time for this build, I looked everywhere to make it *That much better! I went all out with the theme! No miss matching colors at all, only Black/Brown! (except the drives, they will not be changed/moded/spray painted)

Here are all the cables that were braided! Well, not all of them, of course there are fan cables and front panel cables. Plus the sata and molex cables!

12pin PCI-E connector for the PSU:

2x 6pin PCI-E for the GPU: (the 2 other connectors are braided as well, they just aren't in the picture)

8pin connector for the CPU:

You'll see the 24pin in the system. I haven't taken photos of it because my camera decided to kill itself in the middle of my snap shooting, long story! xD

Here's the system!

Comments? =] I want you to look for faults! Search for them, and tell me what doesn't go well with this! I was searching, and the only thing that's not good is the 8pin CPU cable. It's a little bit too short, so it goes straight to the hole. I wanted it to make a good loop, but it can't =/
Can you find anything else?

I will upload photos of it lighten up, I just want hear a big YES! Before I do.

Sweet :)
hehe...the only thing wrong with it now is that it ought to have a FULL Glass-sidepanel to show off the entire interior... :D

No, really - to be extremely picky...I would change to similar fans on the Noctua.
The difference in size aswell as shape of the fanhousing is a itsy-bit disturbing. Plug the bottom Sabertooth PCIe DustDefender?

We won't be cutting the door! xD That would be too much! It's average this way...

Hmm... But the D-14 wouldn't be the same with different fans on! I like it original.

I can't put in the dust defender because of the NZXT Led PCI slot thingy/board. It's stealth because it's painted, but I can't fit it in with the defender in the slot. Besides, the slot is black so it's not making a whole lot of fuss...

Looks awesome madness. There's nothing I could really fault :)

However, if I was being extremely anal, I would say tighten the front panel connections a little bit.

I didn't hear 'Yes' for the photos with the lights on, but, I wanna share them!
