Hey guys,

Im finalising my build plans, just trying to figure out which motherboard to get, as far as i can tell theres not alot of difference between the two.

Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H

Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H

Aesthetically im leaning towards the blue of the UD3H (i cant figure out if i like the gold on the UD5H or not).

Technology wise, more power phases and the slightly better onboard audio interest me as i plan to overclock, but not excessively.

Im going for a 4770k and initially 16gb of vengeance pro silver (2x8gb 1866mhz)

Im just looking for opinions really, im not sure how vital the power phases will be and if its worth going for a slightly more expensive board that would give me little to no benefit.

Thanks for any input in advance.

From the knowledge i've gathered here regarding Haswell. You are unlikely to see any improvement in your overclock from either board. That said if there are extra features on a board that take your fancy, Better audio, networking chips etc. then it can be worth spending that bit more.

Also, the yellow on the board would go well with something like an MSI lightning if you were ever going to pick something like that up.

Basically, Overclocks are gonna be roughly the same on any decent Z87 board. The extra features, colour scheme etc. is all personal preference
