Gigabyte motherboard and new ssd question

Hey guys,

Got a new SSD today. I've done the obvious and plugged into a SATA 3 port on my gigabyte motherboard but I just wanted to ask a few questions as I was looking through BIOS.

PCH SATA CONTROL MODE - IDE


eSATA3 CONTROLLER - ENABLED
eSATA3 CTRL MODE - IDE
eSATA3 TRANSACTION MODE - FW MODE

What do all these mean and what is IDE?

Have you re installed windows yet? if not change it to ahci instead of ide. you get trim etc from what i recall.
