Hi Guys

My other half is having my GTX 480's, as he brought me the GTX 580's, he has a Gigabyte EX58 UD3R Motherboard, will this board be able to cope with 480's in SLI as it only has 2 x PCI-E lanes for GTX cards, which would mean the to 480's wouldn't have a grap between them.

Thanks in advance

Hay

Both cards will run @ 16x, apart from heat isssues that may arise unless they are under water you should be good to go.

As above really, the top one will just get pretty hot where they are right up against each other. If he ever changes his motherboard make sure you have an extra slot between the two main PCIE's next time.

The UD3R does have 3 PCIe slots. Slot 3 only runs at 8x though AFAIK. When I added my second 470, temps actually went down a bit even though the cards are sandwiched together.

Btw, mind if I take your other half out some time? 2x 580's! He's either an extremely good catch or he did something wrong!
