Gigabyte might have heard you Tom...

Yea. What Tom, Der8auer, Buildzoid and GamersNexus are doing with VRM analysis has started to get serious effect.

Gigabyte tried to market their boards like they had many phases, and these guys called their bluff. Instantly Gigabyte changed marketing material on their site. And in the next gen boards... proper VRMs, and proper parts sheet before launch.

Buildzoid called out ASUS for Z370-G, basically calling it horse manure, and on first next launch... ASUS is announcing proper ROG GENE board.

The BIOS will be a major factor, as it is for all new motherboards. Hopefully things are changing over at Gigabyte, but I won't hold my breath waiting for it.

Gigabyte needs to earn back their trust. One of my first PCs were built using a Gigabyte motherboard. 990FXA-UD3, great motherboard for AM3+. Back then I used an AMD Phenom II 1090T, loved that motherboard. Things have changed so much since then...

It's not been about the VRMs. It's been about lousy bioses that want to stuff your s**t full of volts.
