With many other vendors recently showing off their custom R9 290X cards, it's surprising Gigabyte has came in so late.
While there has been no formal announcement has been made, Gigabyte has now posted full specs of their upcoming AMD R9 290 and 290X.
Both will come with a overclock on the GPU core of 1040MHz and feature their WINDFORCE X3 450W cooler. Some sources claim that this cooler will be a full 15 dB quieter than the reference design while in quiet mode but this is yet to be verified.
AMD Roy has also posted on Twitter saying that he "Saw Gigabytes R9 290X yesterday. It is very impressive. I want one! Ships next v week and will delight". Whether this is shipping to the retailers or release to the public remains a unknown but we should expect to have custom R9 290 cards by the new year.
