Gigabyte GTX780 Treasure Hunt

Yeah you know what I was having a good time looking for it last night and all, thought it was funny. Spent close to 6 hours total looking. Then to my surprise I come home from work to see:
"oh your using ad block? well it's not going to show up for you." For all I know I could have been on the right page without even knowing.

Now don't get me wrong but being newer to the site and what not I didn't think to white list it, I like to support the content makers and have ad block off for YouTube and twitch for example.

But for you guys to knowingly make it not show up for someone with a ad block program and not tell us till people have wasted large sums of time is asinine. And then to act as if it's our own fault, and we should have know better. It's an image not an ad we were set to searching for. What's to make someone like me that doesn't work with or know how websites and what not work, know to white list the website.

This was fun, till I found out I wasted hours of time. And I know I'm not the only one to be a little turned off by this.

Next time a heads up at the start of a competition would be nice if you're going to pull a move like you did. That's all I ask, isn't that fair enough?

I don't understand why people ever thought using ad blocking software on an image search was a good idea... that's not OC3D/TTL's fault.

This is my first treasure hunt. I went back through some of the older contests to see sort of how they are done, and have a question: When the contest is over, are the hunted images edited back out? I've yet to see any from the past, and while I've checked disable on overclock3d.net for ABP, I wonder if running No Script might also be screwing with my search?

well ive been looking all day and its now 3:AM time for bed zzzzzzzzzzzzz :/ Really need some thing to replace this old on its last legs gtx 260 :(

You don't have to enter to be honest and if it's not fair to have a free chance to win a 650$ card then by all means let others try and win. Complaining won't solve anything and neither will blaming others by pulling "a move" get you anywhere. Thanks for trying:)

I've searched for a few hours and haven't found it but i enjoy doing it. I want to earn the 780 and would much rather have a hard time doing so than an easy time to stop the people who just join to win and never come back( i understand them just coming here helps the site though). It's a fair competition so i see no harm in putting any time in.

I have both noscript and adblock plus disabled for the site and forums, but still I can't seem to find a single fucking ad. I'm gonna start over with opera this time.

lol that's the problem... every day brings new hints and winners, and I need a new GPU :p

New winners? What? There's *one* GTX 780 to win, and the winner will be picked randomly after the deadline from the hundreds or thousands of people who've submitted a correct answer by then.

Right if I can get 25 shares of the compo post on facebook and 25 votes on reddit I will add a two more images somewhere else in the site......... That way you have a much higher chance of finding them.

please everyone quote this for a bit so everyone can see it further down the thread.

I only have a problem since my ADD kicks in and I lose track of what I was doing and drift off doing something else. Oh well, I keep trying but at this pace if I don't focus I'll still be looking in 30 years. :)

sorry fixed it, I meant more applicants lol. The longer this goes on the less likely I'll be getting that shiny new 780 :p
