These are still a mid range cards. I know they want to sell some units, but really.

Are the blocks interchangeable?

They are essentially Asetek AIO units with extended hoses, so I'm pretty sure you could take them apart and maybe use your own cards with 3 Corsair HG10 or Kraken G10s...

EDIT: On second thoughts! Leave well alone, sorry Gigabyte (you sold out) those are Coolermaster 120m pump blocks! AVOID!!

I think what kills it the worst, is it looks like it was built aesthetically to be run on a stacker case.

If they would build it to blend with my 900D with 80mm 140 rads, with included quick disconnects, so I could run any block I wanted as I upgraded. I would also want those fugly front controls gone, and a side door to match my lower door with the controls inside so I can have a nice brushed front. I would be all over that like a fat kid with a doughnut.

It's a good idea, but the implementation is terrible.

Wink wink Parvum Systems! A modular rad case with quick connections..

NNOOOOOOO.... is this some kind of sick joke. That sounds horrific. All forms of stacker and pedestal should be killed with fire, idrc if Caselabs did do it, grim.

I showed my friend Gigabytes leap into the death square and we also established that the supporting bracket blocks all of the power connectors and the hoses would block the power switch on loads of cases. It also makes all optical drive bays unusable and by the looks of it requires you cut the bottom out.

 From what I just read, this Gigabyte junker looks to retail in the region of around $3000 - $3500 :o My thought is "WHY!" as epeen goes this is just dumb, no respectable builder or modder is even going to bother, when a: it's cheaper to build separately & b: it looks like crap!

It's very perplexing. You would think that they would just attach the rest of the case and a Gigabyte X99 board and sell it as a barebones/complete rig or even just sell AIO watercooled 980's on their own if they want to go that route. I don't know what customers they think they are targeting, American gamers I guess. There are just so many better ways of solving the problem :/

Epeen just went limp looking at that price. 2K tops is all they could ever think about getting out of something like this. Even then, they might sell 10 of them world wide.

This could be a marketing ploy to see if there is interest for it which no doubt, there isnt.

I seriously doubt this will go to retail. Imagine once next series of cards are released, what then?

That is the most obsurd thing I have ever seen, with custom watercooling being what it is today who in their right mind would buy that ugly thing

The best thing they could have done is try to do this in a 900d or similar type case with a motherboard ram and cpu and offer it as a pre-constructed barebones kit it would look way better and way cleaner.

I guess that this just a concept, and that the developers were smoking some strong sh** when they thought of this. I hope for the sake of PC developers that this is not real and is just a joke.
