Getting My Feet Wet

This is where I lost now , I'm on the fittings page browsing but there is just so much stuff & half of it outa stock, the only way I would get all the fittings that have been recommended previously in this thread would be to mix from different manufacturers which then puts me at risk of the tubing not fitting :(

If anybody has ten or fifteen minutes over the weekend to help my choose maybe via teamviewer or something like that it would be a great help ! I'm really grateful for all your help so far :)

I can help you. We can jump on the OC3D Discord too or something like that.

Fittings wise, its is "ok" to mix rotaries although looks weird, but the actual compression fittings ideally should remain the same. Exceptions can happen. e.g. you opt for thick tubing for the loop that is visible to everyone, but behind the scenes (hidden away) you choose a flimsy thinner tube to handle the trick bends in the background.

highflow.nl is a fantastic site. EKWB.com is ok but i find stock issues all the time are a problem. Alternatively I can share with you the contact point of Lily at bitspower and you can order direct from her which comes straight from the Taiwan factory. She often helps me with discounts and tax breaks :D :D :D as well as a few bonus items. Its because of that I always stick to BP. Her customer service is fantastic. In fact the others when she is not available are also great.

Downside to BP are the premium costs. Barrow fittings are almost identical, at half the cost if you can find a place to buy in bulk.

So long as the fittings are rated at the same size (example 15/12) then it will work fine with 15/12 hose. Personally I used all straight fittings, then / 1/4 rotaries (snake, straight, 90 degree, 45 degree and 30 degree) to make the tubing go where I wanted. I used 80 % bitspower and then a mix of Barrow and EK to finish, but the Barrow and EK were plain black and not branded so it all looked great.

I would stick to black or chrome because they will fit any build, rather than just one. I already had the red ones so I had to go with red ;)

Got the Barrow waterblock yesterday, a bit gutted because the the two nuts and bolts which hold down the top section into the block are missing, anybody know what size these should be ? I'll see if I can get some from the local hardware store.

It should tell you in the assembly instructions.

Its chinese :)

Anyway, All finished today, Got such a headache looking on all different sites for fittings I just went and bought a thermaltake kit of local ads site, its brand new and paid 200e (400e on amazon) euros for it.

Didn't use the cpu waterblock as my Corsair H115i is still working for the moment :)

I'll do some more research over the coming months and hopefully this summer fit some straight tubing and another rad, thanks for the input peeps :) :)

Nicely done, that's a decent option. I'd get that CPU block on too, just for the heck of it. How are the GPU temps looking?

46c max on the Gpu just got my highest Timespy extreme score also 7768 :) Now I have seen how it all fits together I'll add another rad , cpu block and straight tubing during my summer holiday..

Another thing, on the bottom of the Gpu block there is a 3 pin female rgb cable and RGB light strip, any idea how I use this, tried a fan header lol but the block didn't light up....

Need to get some antibacteria additive and maybe some blue dye also..

Had a long gaming session tonight (Hitman 2), hitting mid to high 50s on the GPU core and the water temp is very warm in the loop also. I guess if the water temp is rising then that's a good sign. Speed on the D5 is 50%. I definitely think I need another rad. For a quick bench I never see the temps go over 49c.

As I said earlier in the thread eventually you will hit a wall and that will be your saturation point. Your GPU temps sound very similar to mine, and I've only got 240 each for the CPU and GPU.

Maybe you will need another for when you add the CPU, IDK. I don't overclock my CPUs so there may be something to be had there.

It's all relative as it'll depend entirely on what the room temperature and the case ambient temperatures are. Even so, high 50's does seem a little higher than I'd expect. (I'd expect around 45-50)

If you have a thermometer, check what your room temperature is near the pc, then check inside the case.

Received a new rad yesterday and installed the TT Cpu block, the 9900k is a bitch to cool !

AVX workloads at 5ghz 1.275v are still close to high 80s.

Overall temps are now idling in the low to mid 20s although I think ambient have also dropped a little.

The GPU clock seems to be a lot more stable now, averaging 2025mhz during benchmarks (3D Mark, Superposition) but constantly hitting Power Limit (366w on my card).

I flashed the Galax 380w bios but the memory timings are rubbish on this card which results in lower scores than my original Gigabyte bios.

Things to note, flush flush & flush the loop and then flush some more. 3 times I have drained this week due to floaters blocking up the fins on my gpu block, cpu block was also the same ! !

With regards to the loop the loop tubing in my case, its only temporary, will defo get some straight tubing in their this summer when I have more time.

Also I'm wondering if any straight tubing exists for the fittings that I have already bought which are compatible with 16mm outer and 13mm inner diameter ( https://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002500) ?

Here are some piccies :

My apologies. I forgot to tell you that everything needs serious cleaning before you can use it. Have had a lot on my mind recently.

With regards to your CPU temps, this is why we said you didn't need a huge amount of rad space. Once you hit saturation temps nothing makes a difference.

Alien and I are firm believers that when it comes to radiators, there is no such thing as OVERKILL

btw, very good job sir on your first loop. Looks outstanding.
