I'm trying to say the longevity of a 980 looks rather limited right now with the 300 series around the corner and almost certainly a response from nVidia with another high end card relatively soon. If nothing else the value of a 980 is going to take a big hit. It doesn't perform as well at higher resolutions compared with the 290X which is definitely something I would be looking for when speaking of longevity.
Is this just a total thread jack? The 980 is well out of budget for the OP. And Chrazey I don't understand why you don't stick with the Vapor-X, if it's broken get it replaced.

Right, now I got ya... so then, from what you wrote, a 970 would make more "sense" in that way then, I suppose?.
And yes, it has somewhat gotten hijacked, sorry about that.
But to answer your question, I'm not sure if I had a faulty Vapor-X card, but that one was running in the "yellow" light while idle, when it should've been on blue.
Basically, it was running fairly hot inside my Arc Mini R2, although I have all quite good fan setup I must say.
Plus the Vapor-X just simply dworfed (?) my PC lol, that card was almost covering the entire inside of the PC lol. Making some other components look tiny.
But anyway... back on topic guys, apologies for the hijack!
