Get PB and PBbans on the COD4 server?

I think we should get both...

Its impossible to ensure everyone we ban are hackers

Its impossible to monitor the server 24/7

Its impossible to ban nickname changers

Some hacks are hard to stop

Most people will have a legit key and it will prevent banned hackers keyg3nning another one....

I'm all for it and so are most of the people enduring hackers on the server

I mean there were just 3 of us admins on there and we could hardly keep up.. So for about an hour the server has been pretty much unplayable.

Yes enabling PB may end up blocking a couple of legits from the server but it really does need doing. It worked ok on .86 (ish)

Using Modern Rcon wouldn't let me PBBan them just really hoping it would.

Well I've just left Daza in there but we seem to have got it under control.. Must have banned 20 times..

We can enable it, but I guarantee you that the server will go from full all the time, to empty all the time in 0.6 seconds. Not just because of all the hackers being kicked, but because of all the people with the same keys. Lemme know what you decide tho.

Surely not everyone has dodgy keys? I mean we could test it for a bit and see if it does pick up (people with legit keys usually look for PB servers so theoretially we could pick a load of them up)

Little bit selfish on my part, I say get it as I am legit and like playing on the server when I can get on. If PB means all the illegals drop out no concern to me , it means all the people who have paid for the game can play and ENJOY it as it is meant to be played.

It may also help me as I am still noob status IMO and enjoy squaring up against the more formiddable player and not a cheat who shoots me through a wall blindfolded!

I say take the hit and see how it goes. I am away for 3 till sat pm so look forward to perhaps getting on and having a game.

My argument as an admin is the game costs £20 maybe less on the bay.

If someone cant afford £20 for a game how the hell they manage to get a PC that can run the game simple.

Its like spending 100k on a car then saying yeh cant insure it or mot it or tax it, as I haven't got enough money but Ill still drive it.

And yes Ive just came off with about 4 bans and silly kicks. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

To be honest.. Screw em.

Half the problem last wasn't only the hackers it was the people witht he key gens that just kept shouting racism around to

us off then as soon as we banned they would go get another key and start up again. I think if you don't own a copy then you shouldn't be able to play anyway. Hope it does lock the lot of em.

Got kicked a few hundred times.

Went to punkbuster and downloaded the autoupdater from here http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php and all was fine.:worship:

Turn the PB on but if it kicks out a lot of legits than turn it off again. I personally don't have a legit copy cos i cant afford it. The game costs 50€ and I just cant buy it cos I don't have the money! It is easy for you to buy it but my sallary is 250 € and I have a lot of more important thing than buying a game! i do love playing it and I love this server! So Bungral and Daza you are completely WRONG! If I had the money I would buy it!
