News to me. We've been editing in 4k, it's too much of a buzz phrase being passed around tbh. 8k resolutions are being touted too. (more with making you think you need to buy new tvs)Battlefield 4 at 4K I've seen use 5GB on a Titan and with games coming out like the Witcher 3 which looks like it's going to melt current systems.
At 4K I think it will go beyond 4GB easily making 8GB a viable number.
I've done BF4 on 3x1920x1200, which I've now got as a permanent setup mostly for programming than anything, and the claims of people's vram use against reality are very different.
There's a thread on this forum somewhere, where people posted evidence of their vram use - use it as evidence.
8G is well ott. Memory must be cheap.
But - having said all that, if the game devs have these things available, they may use them. Has nothing to do with your resolutions tho. Textures/graphics yes, even with your 32bit games.
