Gearbox to honor late fan as an NPC in Borderlands 2

This probably should go in the games section BUT its not often you hear of a dev doing something like this,so I figured it belongs in the news,as it is unusual and also a way that real life and gaming can be mixed these days.

This morning, we received an email from a Destructoid fan named Carlo who shared a story about his late friend Michael John Mamaril. Last month, Michael passed away due to cancer at the young age of 22. Both were huge Borderlands fans, so Carlo thought a great way to honor his buddy's memory would be to shoot Gearbox Software an email asking for a short eulogy to be read by the game's smart-mouthed robot mascot Claptrap. Not only did Gearbox comply with the request, it also promised to insert Michael into the upcoming Borderlands 2 as an NPC.

Have to say that it brought a tear to my eye after listening(lost a friend to cancer a few months ago)

Its really cool that a company can do something like this and give back to its fans, they also created a wedding proposal video once, its going that extra mile like this that will make me always buy their games.

Well i would have bought Borderlands 2 anyway (first part rocked imho), but this gives Gearbox even more sympathy. Nice move.
