If you couldn't guess from the thread title, I am an Australian. Been a long time watcher of the OC3D channel on the youtubes and when my favourite AU forum went bung I began to search for another, newer one.

For those who want to know, or others who care about such things, my current rig while long in the tooth now, got me on some leaderboards on my old forum for stuff like SuperPi and MaxxPi (sp?). It still sits at #3 for it's CPU generation leaderboard (and likely will remain there as the forum is inactive now).

Current Rig:

  • Core i7 950
  • Rampage III Extreme
  • 6GB Corsair Dominator GT (2000MHz)
  • GTX 580
  • Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD
  • OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD (now delegated to holding BF4)
  • 2 x Samsung Spinpoint F3's (1 died two weeks ago, the other is on the way out)
  • Corsair HX750
  • Corsair 800D
  • A poorly picked (for the case, ran out of money after everything else) Noctua NH-D14

As we had a massive storm and lightning blew my powerboard, the safety switch and my whole rig, I am posting from a crappy laptop while awaiting an insurance claim to rebuild (gotta love gold level insurance with new for old and thunderstorm cover).

Professionally, I am a Security Guard although I am aiming to get into the military. 28 now and I would prefer the deadset security of a proper career.

That's about all the personal stuff taken care of. How's everyone doing?

Edit - Now how do I get to put up an Avatar? I promise it won't bend at anyone.

And a very Good day to you sir, you'll fit in nicely, plenty of you Ozzie boys on the OC3D forums now. By the way nice set up you have going.

Cheers for the friendly welcome.

Looking at a whole new rig is fun. I haven't shopped for and planned a build in a few years now and that tingly excited feeling is something I have missed.

Going to roll with a mATX build this time. Node 804, Maximus VII Gene, 4790K, 16GB 2133 and a R9 290 being the main parts. Just researching which AIO I want in the rig and where I can fit it. H105 will definitely not fit in the roof so trying to estimate tubing length to see if I can fit the sucker in the back chamber (as main chamber will be blocked by the 290 and the top of the motherboard)
