How nice, my sister bought me a bottle of vodka to celebrate:D well done everyone!

Lashing bottles of vodka @ 16 ?

Tis about time they rejigged these exam results. Going by how they get listed, they maybe oughta have A=A* B=A C=B.

And imo, if one year u get a really high level of A-C passes, the subjects need to be made harder the next year, and keep repeating. Otherwize the race of humans isn`t going to progress very quickly without the challenges. Ending up with a system where only a few % get As, and these represent the cream of the generation, rather than having an A alongside several million others - cos to me that doesn`t mean anything, other than it obviously wasn`t a challenge.

Having taken O`Levels a year earlier, and having to do GCSEs as we were the first to have them, I`ll never forget our first physics class where we had to tear out a good number of pages out of text books as we were no longer required to know them as the formulas would be given in the exams, and somethings didn`t need to be known.

Seems to me tho, they`d rather just keep increasing the results higher as an image of what they`re meant to represent. If every kid finishes school with 5 A grades, the schools/govt. celebrate, but as people we should be guilty. And doing 12 subjects ? That`s taking the pish even further imo. I`d rather some1 excel in a Math line than also tack on ALAN or Citizenship as a freakin shoe-horn extra qualification. If u got time to do more than the old average of 8, then the 8 core subjects aren`t hard enough. Imo.

Well done every1 btw, hope u get to do what u want to do. Hopefully not lash vodka.

Youth is youth, your brought up were your brought up. Im not irresponsible, dont cause trouble and have achieved what i need to get onto further education. I live my life as a teenager and enjoy myself, but understand the importance of a hard days graft. AND ive just come off of a 17hr shift of work, so surely im allowed to relax responsibly? You be the judge, and the word "lashing" isnt fair, i can remember fully the night, had full control, and when 3 people i was with passed out off much less than i had, i got them to the bus stop, only to be ditched when someone much bigger started to kick off . thats life for ya

Tbh... i think all 16 year olds do the same.

Congrats on the results guys :D

Me and apoc are celebrating our results with our school mates 2morrow night. :)

You make a good point, and this has been implemented in some respects in the A level system. I Just got my AS results, and you get UMS points out of 300. Essentially if you get 300 you are in the top 0.3% of the country.

I am possibly applying to Oxford uni, and they go off UMS not grades. You basically need above 270 to stand a chance at all... yet 240 is still an A

ALAN

Accuracy in Literacy and Numeracy.

It's on computers. 30 Questions, get 15 or so right, and it's half a GCSE.

Can resit as many times as you want.
