was just wonderin what games work on Macs?

And what about anti-virus on macs? or spyware etc..

Use bootcamp and they'll all work fine, although some may be a little laggy (should be OK at the lower res)

Natively...none of them?

mm ok

thanks for youre responses

I think bootcamp kinda defeats the purpose of the mac though imo. putting vista on it

Oh ok sweet thanks.

Kinda off topic in my own thread! butt..

iv heard things about the MBP mainly that the CD drive warps and cd's dont go in anymore after its put in backpacks and mainly lots of use

true?

Never heard of anyone having that kind of a problem, and everyone i work with besides one colleague uses MBP's. i do know that Macs do not like cheap CD's when you burn them thou or will not be able to read them such as RiDatas. The best are Taiyo Yudens all the way, and thats a whole nother topic.

There are a few new(ish) native mac games.

Also you can use cider (basically modified darwine) to run some windows games. Altho the performance isn't anywhere near running the games in windows, it's even not as good as running it on wine/cedega on linux :(.

A lot of the new 'mac' games released by EA are actually windows games packaged with cider (eg: C&C3, Guitar Hero3 etc) with the price bumped up by £10-15 for the privilege.

I guess it depends on how much you're into gaming really. If your main use for the system is gaming, I'd say there are more points against a mac in comparison to a windows machine (cost, speed, number of games, new games etc) altho you could always put windows on just for games (similar to what I have done for steam/cs:s)

I think the macbooks are excellent machines tho :) and very stylish.

I guess it all depends on what you will be using it for.

As for antivirus, you could put on antivirus if you are sharing network files with windows pc's just to be sure.

For more info you could checkout the Mac OSX - Helpfull Links thread

Also the Mac Games page on the apple site

wow thats really cool

i didnt no the mac helped u install bootcamp, i thought it was like a third party thing.

i think i might do that just for games, although the performance wont be anywhere near PC's

If some1 could post a link to a 24" iMac exploded hardware pic, I`d appreciate it.

Looked at the mouse, and can`t figure how to get a c2e processor and hsf in it.

TIA

$2299 or so - which includes 24" monitor of course.

If you're looking at getting a Macbook Pro I'd maybe wait as they are probably going to be updating the macbook and macbook pro soon

AppleInsider has it on supposedly reliable word that the company will in fact be extending multi-touch trackpads to its top-end MacBook Pro line, and in the "next several weeks," no less. What's more, those same sources say that the new MacBook Pros (both 15-inch and 17-inch models) were originally supposed to make their debut "at or around Macworld Expo," but they got pushed back after Apple was forced to put additional resources and personnel on the MacBook Air in order to get it out in time.
