Gaming on GT610

performance/price ration is really bad with all of the gt cards imo, you'd be better off spending a bit more to get like a 7770

The source games like hl2, portal and team fortress 2 should work ok. I used to have a gt 220 ages ago. As long as your psu is up to it I would get a new card as soon as you can though :)

For your sake i hope the psu is very highly rated and not some cheap shit. If the PSU dies then a huge chance everything else will die along with it.

GT610s are usually found in pre-built machines so in that case it's probably not great but it will do. And otherwise there's always warranty.

20fps
aaaanyways, is this an upgrade or is this for an entirely new built? anything below 650ti is APU sector.

It will help alleviate some work load on you or processor, so its not having to run the PC and display, and give more options some motherboard's don't have like HDMI, DVI-I/D and VGA. But for gaming this card is going to struggle to give playable fps, and even then everything will need to run at low.

I suppose one advantage is you can still play older games with no issue, so for a nostalgic gamer who say likes to play the first Command & Conquer or the tycoon games or any of them(i did not say retro as i don't class these as retro) then that's fine but for newer games i don't think you will have much luck I'm afraid with out upgrading both power supply and GPU.
