Gaming grade OLED monitors?

Well, I've been interesting myself in OLED technology lately and there are a lot of interesting perks to it, like the extremly fast reaction time, or the (180°)² viewing angle.
Now my problem is: My smartphone has an OLED screen, my friends TV has an OLED Screen, but I know nobody I know has an OLED PC Monitor. I googled a little towards that matter and I couldn't find any reasonably priced monitors. Is there too little demand or what is going on here? Could somone explain this to me?

(btw. with reasonably priced I mean somewhere below 1000€-500€)

My point is: All I want is a gaming capable 1080p or 1440p OLED monitor that I can afford, why don't they exist, or why have I not found any yet?

cheers ;)

From what i know OLED has even hit mass production. Most things claiming they are OLED would be considered beta versions IMO.

Edit: not mass produced*

and also they are very finite in their construction i think i read somewhere that by 2019 they are expecting to run out, this is where sites that buy your phones back have come into exsistance, to recycle the materials.

Yes but why 2019? As I said, my Phone uses an OLED Screen and my friends TV also uses OLEDs, so bigger than 22" works and smaller than 22" works, why doesn't 22" work? Its not THAT hard to set up a mass production line for a new product that you basically don't have to do any more research and development for...
The only reason I could think of that may be the reason is that there are some major research projects going on in OLED technology, that stop companies from throwing out a product thats gonna be obsolete in a couple of months...

Is it not because there is absolutely no pressure to make PC monitors thinner? Especially for gamers!

Well, the thickness isn't relevant I would say... Its an added bonus they are so thin, but that shouldn't be a goal for development, the whole reason I would want an OLED gaming monitor are because of the beautiful contrast, the incredibly good color reproduction, the very fast reaction times and the extremely good viewing angle...

If OLED Monitors were built for gaming, they would outperform any given gaming monitor (for gaming applications), either TN Panel or IPS Panel, doesn't matter, OLEDs are superior in every matter BUT longevity. Thats where they're really bad...

OLED isn't just superior to LCD in picture quality, it completely blows it out of the water. TN, VA, IPS, doesn't matter. The moment OLED steps on the market and it's price gets to acceptable levels, there will be absolutely no reason whatsoever to buy an LCD panel instead because LCD is better at absolutely nothing. Truth is, LCD is (quality wise) the worst technology. Many people don't realize this but CRT was superior in picture quality).

The contrast of OLED is better than plasma and it's color reproduction should be on par. On top of that, OLED doesn't need to be viewed in specific lighting conditions in order to really look nice (which plasma TVs do).
It's also cheaper to manufacture than any technology to date, so in the future (once they pay off their investments), it will cost less than LCDs do.

The only actual problem is the lifespan of the blue diode, which - last time I checked - can be pushed to 60000 hours. On the other hand, the lifespan of an LCD pixel is usually up to 90000 hours, so it's really not as bad as some make it out to be. Also, the lifespan of green OLED diode is over 150K hours, so really, if it wasn't for the blue one, this problem wouldn't exist.

As for OLED monitors - there was talk about LG trying to open a factory for IT-grade OLED panels before the end of 2013, so we might actually see some in 2014.

The first lines will probably not be cutting edge. They will be suitable for gaming of course (that's not even up for a debate), as long as their input lags stay within certain limits, but lets face it, some people game on monitors with 30ms input lag and don't even know it. The thing is, that these particular panels will probably have short lifespan, as many people fear. Although until they are out, we can only speculate.
