well what can i say i have had many issues with my PC. i am defiantly not my famous brother (ChrisRay). he always tried to teach me about building but i dint understand very well. my computer is a assembly of hand me downs from my brothers builds, broken computers, or donations. there is a few parts i bought though, a EVGA P55 FTW 200 and a Samsung bluray combo drive. i recently got it ruining again took me 3 weeks of opening broken parts and fixing them some work fine now, while others are unstable, and some plane cant be repaired. few weeks ago my PSU too out my entire PC. i am going to list all my parts in 3 sections below so u can see the build.

Good:

  • EVGA P55 FTW 200
  • Samsung 22" 3D Monitor
  • Corsair 800D Case
  • Samsung Bluray combo drive
  • Xbox 360 controller for windows
  • Silverstone ST1500

Unstable:

  • Logitech G51 Speakers
  • nVIDIA 3D Vision Kit
  • 5 various sized hdd's
  • 4GB (1GB x 4) Memory
  • cpu cooler
  • Pre Release GTX 280 Reference Beta Testers Card

Busted:

  • keyboard
  • mouse
  • razer mgalodons

i been trying to think of a name for my build. i was thinking something like GamerGirlAlice's Monolith, but as much as it has died in its build and been repaired i debating The Phoenix. i like the the Monolith name because the corsair 800d look. some parts i am looking at for repair and upgrades are below, so these this lists some advice on build name and parts.

replacement parts & upgrades:

  • replace all 7 case fans with BitFenix Spectre Pro 120mm & 140mm Fans in red led where its veiewble. the fans over upper and lower hdd cages can be the non led version.
  • BitFenix Hydra for Spectre Pro LED control. trying to figure how i can mount the pci bracket in a easier place to reach like a front 5.25" front bay cover.
  • Corsair Link Fan Controller
  • EVGA SuperClocked Cooler.
  • EVGA GTX 560 2gb GPU

well it just failed again. im starting fresh, the case is only part im keeping from last build. going to take me a while to get stuff but im starting with more generic stuff like psu, coolers, keyboard, ect. the z77 platform looks promising specially gigabytes ones with msata. but ill keep u all posted on the build.

cute names but going to keep it GamerGirlAlice's Monolith i think. i deiced on bulldozer for multitasking in media creation. also my roots in PC where with AMD CPU's and GPU's.

all i can feel safe of saving for my new PC is the monitor, case, speakers, and game pad. i am not going to have it over heat again. when i get paid i am buying the corsair link cooling kit. basically its a software based fan controller. so if system gets hot it will ramp up the case fans. the other parts will take longer to get but its better to do it right then make mistakes.

well i did the imposible i think. i took 5 busted computers and built a working computer. it is unstable and needs some parts to finlize it but its working. i just ran some bench marks in normal and 3d modes and was wondering if you all can tell me if i made a decent Frankenstein PC.

id beg you to reconsider with the bulldozer, yes your roots may be in AMD but your rig will be cheaper and better if you go with say an i5 2500k on the z68 platform. Frankly the zambezi architecture is a pile of steaming poo.

yeah I used to be an AMD junkie and even have a 1090T but, even the Sandybridge i3's run smoother then the 1090T. So I've lost faith in AMD for the moment, they just can't compete with Sandybridge, and with the Bulldozer chips AMD just fell flat on their face. :/

well my system is stable now for the most part. my stock style heat sink is wanting to fall off so im looking into getting the evga cooler or a corsair h100. but my evga p55 ftw 200 board is stable with my i7 860 @ 2.8 ghz. evga forms say i should get a 4 ghz stable oc on it when i get one those 2 coolers. so i figure getting a new corsair ax850 and dual evga 680's would be a great way to prolong my p55 system. if anyone has opinion on which is a better cooler it would be greatly appreciated.
