Game Over

I think I know how to do this but want to run it past you guys to make sure I am not making a mistake as I have not tried it before.
Ok, So I have the game "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" on my PC. Have had a great time with it but want to put it away for a while and get back to it in the near future. I want to remove it from my PC until that time as I need the space for another game and room for space hungry processes like Video Rendering Files. So do not want it there just taking up valuable storage Real Estate.
But I do not want to lose all my progress in the game by killing the game saves. I want to be able to back up my saves on my Thumb drive so I can start from where I left off when I do get around to re-installing the game at a later date.
I found the save files for Skyrim in DOCUMENTS>MYGAMES>SKYRIM.
This SKYRIM folder contains a folder called SAVES which in turn contains a bunch of ESS files which are my save points i believe.
I was thinking I would COPY-PASTE the SKYRIM folder to my thumb drive, Uninstall the game completely, then later... Re-install the game, Replace the games SKYRIM folder with my old one I put on the thumb drive.
I am thinking this would then make the game like I never left? All saves and progress like it was before I uninstalled the game?
Wanted to make sure this is the proper way to do it, Would really be annoyed if I tried to put the old save folder back and it just would not work because I missed something.
So what do you think, Is this the correct method? any other files I need to save? Any suggestions / Pointers appreciated.
Thanks.
