G-Dubs' 780T/Alphacool Build

Ok, so as you guys have pretty much already guessed, I'm going to be painting the motherboard.

As the case is already pretty "In your Face" I've no intention to make the motherboard stand out too much. It's simply going to be a job of losing the gold and altering the colour scheme to be more in keeping with the build.

If you're going to attempt something like this it's extremely important that you take the time to get a good colour match, so a fair few tins of your chosen paint will need to be brought together to get that perfect match.

I've opted for Humbrol enamel as opposed to any acrylic or water based paint as there's a good chance these heatsinks are going to get pretty hot once I've got the rig up and running and clocked the twangers off it.

A selection of brushes will also help achieve the desired quality finish.

There's nothing sticks out to me like a turd in a punch bowl more than the rear I/O glinting away in the back of the case. In the image below you can see it after its first coat of matt black.

Having spent many hours getting the colour match just right (not an easy job eh Tom, Especially with this yellow case), the Gold coloured portions of the heatsinks have also been given the good news.
