Fresh leaks on the R9 295X2 (Now Pictured)

rfphTNI.jpg

This pic might might not show up big enough but if you take the original and just zoom in on the part highlighted.

If you look at the circle part of the fan in the centre, on the right side you can imagine the symmetry and where it should be on the left side.
But if you look at the top left where the circle part should be, you can see that it is missing. Also if you look closely at the tubing on the outer left side you can see parts that weren't properly erased, there are still parts there. And the part that is there doesn't line up with the bottom part of the circle.

I meant the color scheme.

also, is it just me or does it look suspiciously like a poorly modded 6990.

So, it is looking like this may be legit after all....
Not sure if that is a good thing because the pictures do look shooped. Maybe we will see some more leaks today, I doubt AMD sent many of these out though so there aren't may people who would actually be able to leak without being identified.

Agreed after getting into the image at a high res you can clearly see it's 2 images cut together, the top left hose is cut perfect to the card casing and not aliased also it has pixellation around it yet the card it self has none  as SieB pointed out the hose that crosses the card has been poorly edited and appears thicker and erased badly in areas also it has a shadow that does not follow it's entire length.

I didn't know we had detectives on this forum. You are going through an awful lot of trouble to showcase this obvious fraud. It was april 1st mates.

Turns out it is legit, must just be the low res pics making it look worse than it is.

These hi res pics actually look good, still baffled by the 2x8pin though, definitely not much OC headroom.

Hope the hose is not actually as stupidly short as they make it out to be in that pic (probably to make it look neat).

The cooler itself does look a lot better than the R9 reference joke, but we can't deny that the black + metal look is a pretty Nvidia-ish thing after the entire Titan and GTX 7xx series.

Still not convinced AMD stated the NDA is on the 8th April. The 2x 8pin (300w) has me baffled as there are claims it requires 500w.

6 Days to go and we'll see for sure. :)

ewww too much like the old xfx cards. The orange fan looks goofy as well. Not going to lie though, this looks like it gets sufficiently cooled and I'd actually get it although I imagine it costs too much. Hopefully they let other companies do their own versions (namely sapphire or MSI ). That would make this card a winner.

It just looks fugly. Considering it only has a single 120 rad, you think they would have thought more about the hose inlet and outlet position, most people put single rads on the rear of the case so why couldn't they position the ports more toward the bracket end of the unit ?

The way it is it looks like it can only go on the top, where most people have a H100i mounted or on the bottom, wrong just wrong and fugly.

I think it looks really cheap tbh - especially the red fan.

I don't really understand why they've opted for a radiator to cool it though. The normal 290 ran incredibly hot as we all know, but I struggle to believe that can be solved by a thin 120mm radiator to cool 2 of them.

Reading the article from Videocardz though, I'm not entirely sure if they understand what TDP means?

I am quite interested to see how it will perform. I don't imagine cooling will be great at all though, but hopefully they'll leave things open for non-reference coolers unlike the Nvidia equivalents.

I am still confused by the fact that you see the solder points for the 8 pin through the backplate. Why?

How the hell is this going to run with just 2 8 pins?

2x8 pin= 300
1x slot= 75

So 375 for a dual card, seeing as the single uses the same setup?anyone else think this is odd?

the front is meh, it's alright, but i really don't like how the top looks. looks like they ripped it off from a car from the 80s.
the metal shouldn't have those air vents and they should've covered what i suppose is the waterblock. the plastic makes it look cheap.
i guess this is their second try of competing with the prestige of the titan cooler, but again they cut the money where it is important. for what is probably going to be a $1000-$1500 card it doesn't look nearly as elegant as the titan cooler.

TBH as long as your PSU can provide the current it shouldn't matter. You might run into trouble if you've multiple 12v rails, but those with a single 12v rail won't have to worry I'd imagine.

The 290Xs are a pain in the butt with PSUs now, 3 are too much for a single Corsair 1200i, I can see people having problems without realising what the real cause is.

I can not understand why AMD would want to be cheapskates and not add a third 8 pin connector, it is not like NVidia are going to undercut them on price.:D
