fractal core 1000 warning

hi, just in the process of building a m8's pc, this stupid case is not correctly designed. as you can see in the pic with the matx mobo in situ there is no wiggle room. the problem is trying to get the mobo into place as it jams between the cdrom cage and the io shield as you try and fit it. i have managed to get it in eventually, but im not impressed with fractal on this

looks like they realised this by adding that groove into the cd rom bay but that's pretty darn tight.

I've build a couple of computers in that case and i never had that problem with them. I think the mobo's were a bit narrower than m-atx though. Shame that they messed that up though as it's a great case for 30 quid :/

They have a serious competitor though. The Cooler Master K280 costs like 2 quid more, but it does have USB 3.0 and cable management options. I personally think it's ugly as ef, and probably won't be solid quality but it does offer more spec for the money.

It's even full-ATX, so obviously it's a fair bit taller than the Core 1000.

Me and cheap coolmaster cases don't get on well :P had to deal with a few and the build quality was terrible, ended up with cuts on my hands. I prefer the fractal solely for quality. Cable management wasn't to bad in the core 1000. Hid most of the spare cables in the optical drive bay and cable ties sorted the rest.

considered getting the atx form factor, but money and space wer a major concern on this one, so i made him choose this case. i did not expect fractal to miss something like this tho
