Fractal Arc on Air

I was giving my rig a quick clean and thought it would be a good opportunity to show it off a bit, as well as get some opinions.

This rig is about 6 months old now, the newest part being the PSU and Case.

Best list the specs.

Asus Sabertooth P67

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz

Mushkin redline 8GB @ 1600MHz (7-9-8-24)

MSI GTX560Ti Hawk

Corsair Force 3 60Gb

4Tb Storage

Seasonic X-760 Gold

Thermaltake Frio (I know, I got it based of a shoddy review. Planning of ditching it for some water cooling)

Fractal Design Ard Midi

Various Peripherals.

Specs out of the way on to some pics.

Just a quick look at the hardware. Still can't believe how nice the Sabertooth looks, shame it's impossible to match anything with it.

A shot of the guts, I'm happy with the cables although 1 or 2 areas are a bit below standard.

Behind the motherboard, could be tidier but it fits and looks clean out front.

Simple shot of it working away, I'll just let the pic speak for itself.

Sorry about the small number of low resolution pics, if you want more for some odd reason don't hesitate to ask..

That board looks the sechts in that case. I'm loving that expanse of black, it looks so clean.

I see that you have that fan controller in the back, with the wires just dangling around the place. If you aren't going to be constantly turning that knob, you can do what I did which was dismantle the thing so its just a small PCB with a knob attached to it then chuck it behind the mobo. Also I'd tighten the cables coming straight out of the PSU, that can get much tighter, there's plenty of room out back.

PCCG amirite?

Only thing not from PCCG in there is the RAM.

Thanks for the idea with the fan controller, might actually try that, it will clean up the ugly unsleeved cables near the PSU. The only reason I have it in there is there isn't enough fan headers on the motherboard.

The loose cables around the PSU are the GPU cables, I didn't really put in enough effort to make room for them out the back of the case so they where forced to hang out the front more. Sloopy work but I will be rebuilding it again when I get my water cooling gear.

Awesome setup mate

Thanks ^^

clean look dude

i just would put the fan controller in the bottom pci slot so you can hide those ugly cables better

You will be baking your MOBO under that plastic shroud unless you add the fan! The shroud works as it should only when you use it with the fan.

I've seen plenty of people not using the fan. The purpose of the shroud is to direct airflow, not block it.If anything the shroud is blocking hot air from the gpu and cpu. Anyway the PCB doesn't get hot to the point that it needs cooling afaik.

Awesome build btw mate. Great cable management.

I agree with you, but not to the point of baking. Asus are providing these fans with the Z77 Sabertooth's, maybe because of the temperatures, i don't know. But since they didn't include the fan I don't think it's cause for concern. I'm sure they would have done extensive testing and found the temperatures to be acceptable.

Well there must be some reason why they now provide TWO fans with the new MB... I think they should have supplied the P67 sabertooth with the fan already installed. BTW 5 year warranty really calls for it. I think that they regret / are going to regret in following years that they did not do it.

Nice rig matey. Definitely think I'm going to be getting an Arc Midi soon, looks very smart and far easier to tidy than the Antec 900 I'm currently using.
