Forum problem

not sure it should be posted here but why does the forum always jump me to a random page and post (i assume its first unread) but it always does it even with topics i have never read before so i end up on page 5 reading a post half way down. it's Getting rather annoying having to scroll then click to get to the first post.

if there is a setting to just open to first post rather than first unread and if someone can explain where it is i would be very grateful.

Are you clicking on the arrow thing to the right? That takes you to the last post made and not the first page of a thread.

open when i click the link on the forum to open it mostly from the recent threads i end up on some random page and post

If you are using the right-side topic menu, that will take you to the last unread post on a topic, not to the start of a topic. Also, if you click the topic by the lasdt poster, it will take you to that posters post, not the start. Best way to get to the main thread directly is to click the thread itself under the forum it's under.

Doesn't matter, unless u click the thread itself under the forum where it's located, it will take you to the most recent reply since you last logged on.

I use the quick links drop down menu at the top right and click Todays posts and I always go to the first page unless I click the arrow icon to the right of a thread which takes me to the last post made.

Not that I've seen. But of course, I've never had a problem with how vBulletin works so I've never tried.

Best way is to use the "view new content" button in the top right below the search bar, clicking the thread title takes you to the first post and if you want the last page click the highest page number or if its past 3 pages it will have a "last page" bit you can click.
