Hi All,

I have got my first SSD yersterday the newest Force GT 6o. I have just installed Win7 in AHCI I install the drivers and run a few updates and it was fine turn on in under 40 secounds. Now I have just install a few more and it takes around 1min 32 secound. Thats not right<.

what size is it?? what SATA rev are ya using?? and have ya done any of the ssd/win7 tweaks?? I ask the last because start up programs can slow it down one of the tweaks is turning off un-necessary start up programs.

Using sata2, No I have not apart from AHCI + Also I have only got the Drivers install and when I check to see whats running I only have one small program what for my display.

hahah:L msconfig in there and press Enter Key to open up the System Configuration Window. Click on the Boot tab in there. and change it from 30 to 0 will that help?

most it let me change to was 3 wouldnt let me do 0 lol it should all help to minor degrees one thing isnt going to impact the whole. In that guide it says to disable page file I set mine to a min of 400 but each step tells ya what it does and so on. there are several I dont do like mouse hover time and menu display time. I can really care less about those so I dont use em. Also disabling aero features and such I like those so I leave it. Some of its personal touches and opinions. Have ya had a look at ZOmbies ssd low down thread??? He has alot of the same plus others input on things another good read.

Also dont expect to see the speeds ur wanting as ur sata6gb drive is on sata3gb controller it will be slower.

yeah been trying to figure a way to show ya but theres alot of stuff in there and listing what I do would take an hour or so lol. Just go slowly with it read each one and decide if its something ya need or not. Most will aide a bit in overall performance. Some are just to speed things up a tad and you might find useful. You are running win7 right??

Disable the Aero Theme on Windows 7

Disable the Unwanted Visual Effects

Disable the Aero Snap features in Windows 7

Speed up the Menu Show Delay Time

Change the Mouse Hover Time before Pop-up Displays

Change from IDE to AHCI Mode after Installation

Change from AHCI to IDE Mode after Installation

Enable RAID Mode after Installation

Disable indexing

Disable the Page File I dont disable I set to 200 each in min and max

these are the ones I dont do aslo in disable unwanted services you have to read each one and decide whats best for you.

Hope this helps a bit more

copied sry fo big text but I did change the color lol the orange just wasnt working but like I said these are what I do everyone is different in what they want if aero effects aint ur bag then disable them aint gonna hurt anything at all.
