Flight sim pc specs?

get a joystick :D ive got a joystick, teering wheel ( for planes ), Throttle and rudders and flown with them for well couple of hunderd hours in flight simulator.. can tell you, it gets easier :P

Wow! thanks for all the help guys, to answer some of your questions he will be using both heavily modded fs-x and xplane over 3 1980x1080 screens.
Most of the articles i have read suggest a I7 at 4.4GHz at least, cas-9 1866MHz+ at least 16Gb, either just a large SSD based system or a ssd accelerated system. they also suggest that a gtx 680 4gb would be the best card for the job. Input welcomed :p

That's...insane. And I can't see how the slight increase in RAM speed would have any noticeable effect, but what do I know?
My mind has been blown :(

thats probally gonna cost some, but if hes gonna take that hes alteast sure it will run smooth. may i ask what kind of business hes in?

That was my initial reaction, I've never seen fps altered by the cas rating of ram :p

Yeah It's kinda peace of mind for him, he's in the concrete business - driveways etc. (just started his own which is doing quite well)

downloading x-plane to test on my 16gb 1866 memory lol just to see if theres a difference
although i will have to pause folding for the test lol

the game/sim seems to be using 4gb ram max and is barely tickling the processor

couldn't get the damn overlay to show anything other than gpu usage lol
so took screen dump with afterburners graphs present.

averaging around 65-75 generally BUT low gpu usage lol, it really isn't pushing a 670 at all

I don't think x-plane is anyway near as hard on the processor as fs-x :p
I remember the X-Plane 10 beta, it was very good on CPU/RAM/GPU...right up until you start turning things up to "Insane", then it all goes wrong and you need a couple of Xeons to do the mathematical calculations for your aircraft!

It's a lot better now though :) FSX was what got me in to the PC building hobby :)

it will most likely be enough yes, but i thought that if somehow he needs to show people something in there and its laggy it might be "unproffesional"

it's not actually business related, that's just where he's getting the funds :P the reason is he wants his pilots license :P

What's your monitor's refresh rate?
That probably explains the max 75 fps :)
Still 75 fps is pretty good.
EDIT: Adaptive V-Synch. That's what I meant :D
Also, is that you playing? I remember myself playing an older version and I never managed to get a plane off the ground :$
