First Watercooling loop noob

Hello, I am going to build a new pc, and I have decided to add water cooling. I am a complete noob and wanted to ask some questions!

Firstly, will the aftermarket water cooling blocks that fit the 290x also fit the 290? I guess it will work, but better safe than sorry :)

Now, if I get a 290 and also have a i7 2600k 3.4 Ghz sandy bridge that I want to water cool, quietly and overclock a bit. Will it be enough with a 360x45 rad? or should I try to get in another 30 rad in the bottom as well? I am planning on push/pull with corasair 120mm sp fans.

30 rad in the bottom of what, 30 rad how big in the bottom of what??

Push pull is just for looks you are better off with a thicker rad just for performance.

Well, a 240 30 mm thick rad, yes I do realize that it´s more for looks... But I´m going for looks, and silence!

It´s a corsair carbide 540, I´m going to remove the bottom and replace it with a piece of aluminium with fan holes. I have also been thinking about putting the 240 rad in the top of the case.

You can fit a 60mm thick rad in the front in push pull with no worries, thats enough to cool what you have and then its down to you to set it up so its quiet.

In that case a thick rad in the front is more important than anything else. Just remember the more you add the more you have to make look tidy too.

Yes the 290x blocks will fit on the 290.

As long as it is reference PCB the blocks can go on either. If you choose the Asus DCU2 290/290x the PCB is not reference and will need a custom block(not out yet).

Thanks for the quick response guys, I will get a Hardware labs black ice gt xtreme 360 rad for the front and get a 290 with watercooling block :)
