Hi Guys,

Just wondering is there anyone out there with the same or very similar gear that is able to give me some good tried and tested OC settings.

I've never attempted to OC before and struggling to get my head around it all.

any help will be appreciated

Every chip is different.

What somebody else gets as an overclock on his 3930k, even if he has exactly the same Motherboard, RAM, Cooling etc, is not applicable to you.

I'd advise you to read up on some guides.

Overclocking is quite a long process of testing and checking stability. There's no quick way out really by just putting in somebody else's settings.

Toms Overclocking video covers all the basics.........

A few settings maybe called something else but the same principle applies.

Yeah dont ask for settings that just gets you a n0000b badge here. Video above can be used to LEARN how to clock your own rig with ease.

If you are laxy and just want settings then sadly youve come to the wrong place.

We prefer to teach YOU how to do it so when it goes wrong, and it will. You can put it right yourself without the need for us to hold your hand.

Oohhhh trust me I'd rather learn and understand it.

But yea as I said haven't even attempted it yet. I've tried reading some forums and guides but have just found myself beating my head against a brick wall with the shear amount of information and terminology to get my head around.

Cheers for the Video. I'll sit down after work and give it a watch and hopefully take take something from it.

Rule 1: Don't screw with the shit you don't know.
Rule 2: follow the video and only screw with the shit Tom does.
Rule 3: Don't copy toms settings... make an educated guess and just go slow.

With x79 there arent really many changes to be made to oc. Its just the process of stability testing. I dont know what the sabertooth bios looks like but it shouldnt be too hard. Also im pretty sure it has a simply display mode if that breaks you in a little easier. But if I were you I would put the volts over 1.4 you will see some people do but that is over the "safe" limit and you need real good cooling for those volts. Just take your time and everything should be fine ok buddy

As i type this i have the guide video playing on my laptop while im in my Sabertooth's Bios.

Finding alot easier to understand now that i got this good reference and can have it open whilist i am in my Bios.

Remember follow the guide and find the LOWEST volts before you start working upwards. Its all a part of the learning process.
