Hi, i'm looking to build my first PC and have a few queries upon what hardware i should use. Using this site's reviews and such i've managed to collect a fairly good idea upon my needs for a new PC. So far it looks like this:

CPU: Intel i7 2600k

MB: ASUS p67 Sabertooth

PSU: Corsair AX 850

GPU: 2x MSI Nvidia GTX 560 Ti Hawk (sli)

SSD: OCZ Agility 3 - 120gb

HDD: 2TB Western Digital Green (Sata III)

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 8gb (2x4gb) 8-8-8-24, 1.5v

CASE: Corsair 600T White w/window

Now here is where it gets a little tricky for everyone. While this is what i've come up with so far, the problem is that i live in Australia. Stock here is missing some major brands such as Mushkin. Now obviously i could import it but it'd end up costing around the same, if not more. So if you have any suggestions please refer to this website first: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php

Also, my budget cannot exceed $2000. The above costs exactly $1995, based off that website. This PC will be primarily used for Gaming, although i will be doing some 3D modelling with AutoCAD as i am an engineer. Overclocking-wise i know there is no CPU cooler, but i hear the stock intel can easily do 4ghz, which is fine. I dont really plan to overclock it anyway.

Cheers. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I know that sounds like a lot but its really more like $1300~ pounds. Still though, it is expensive i guess but Australia does need to import everything.

I would get a single EVGA 580 over sli 560's and with the money left over get a D14

I would agree

or 2 570's would be nice

Gaming I hear you say?

Well forget the 2600K. Forget the 560Ti SLi.

CPU: Intel i5 2500K

MB: ASUS p67 Sabertooth - for gaming this is about as good as it gets

PSU: Corsair AX 850 - good choice

GPU: MSi GTX 580 Twin Frozr II/OC or the Lightning edition

SSD: OCZ Agility 3 - 120gb - do consider the Crucial M4 128GB too, I would vouch for that

HDD: 2TB Western Digital Green (Sata III) - great choice

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 8gb (2x4gb) 8-8-8-24, 1.5v -ok

CASE: Corsair 600T White w/window - nice

you will need to check if autocad will work well with sli as most modeling programs have awful multi-gpu scaling (some less than 50%) i would recommend a single gtx 580 as it will max all todays games, and buy a good cpu cooler for increased overclocking potential for the cpu aswell as reduce noise at load. the i7 2600 as it will give a slight benefit when modeling but a 2500 should be fine for gaming even if not overclocked

swap out that OCZ drive for a Crucial.. or Corsair Force 3 ( if u can get it over there )

i would also back up the others suggestions of dumping SLI scaling in favour of 1 kick ass card ( gtx 580 Twin Frozer 3 )

and the 600t White case is SWEEEET!!!! looks kinda like a stormtroopers face

Yerr i agree the white 600T looks awesome and storm troopers are cool also i agree with the ssd i was going for a OCZ Agility 3 but then i was instructed and advised to go for a Corsair one so i have a 120 gb Force GT and its awsomly fast much better than the agility 3.

Ow an the 580 Twin Frozr 3 is possibly the best single Gpu card out there and if you have the money go for the Lightning.

I shop at PC CASE GEAR also, great place much better then Centrecom. One question how did you manage to find the sabertooth? Can't find it anywhere on their web page.

PS. Go for the Nvidia 580 mind boggling performance and no hassel of SLI!

the kingston is an INSANE SSD! although be prepared to pay for it....

too high for my tastes, considering would you ACTUALLY see a real-world use for it?

i personally would Corsair GT it, and leave the Kingston (even if it is sexyness in a little metal box)
