First ever build - need advice!

Hi folks.
To paint the picture of expected use for my first ever build let me start off by saying that im not a hard gamer, nor into overclocking as such. Beeing this is OC3D.net forum I might even be in "the wrong" forum all together.
Anyways im hoping you guys could steer me the right way on this one.

Been around PC`s for many years but never had anything other than factory-builds. I have added/replaced memory modules, installed GPU`s and some other bits. Think i should manage a complete build.

System will be used for internet, "lite-gaming" and I do plan to start making vids from my many fishing-trips locally and abroad.

Units I would like to transfer from my HP Elite to the new build (If at all usable/suited):
I have a XFX HDR7770 1095MHZ Black
2x2Gb and 2x4Gb 1333Mhz ram modules.
CD/DVD-writer.
24 inch BenQ 2400HD monitor.

I have more or less decided to go for the Corsair Obsidian 650D case.
Would like to work on two monitors. 24" or more.
Would like a fully modular power supply.

I dont have a fixed budget, but hoping to turn out a pretty decent system around the 2200£ mark. (Norway - 20000 kroner)

What other components would u suggest?

Dude for you needs there is no need to spend anywhere near £2200 :L

I Agree, you could easily spend half that and have a very capable system running an i7-3770k and have the second monitor. Seumasbeathan's build would definitely get you where you need to be. I would just upgrade the CPU to an i7 for the video rendering but the i5 would probably work out good as well. I would also swap out the NH-D14 for a smaller, more visually appealing air cooler or an H100 with SP120 Quiet fans because with the 650d's windowed side panel the NH-D14 would look ugly imo.

Im sorry. I did not explain it the way i should. I meant I could use up to 2200. Worst case scenario beeing that i couldnt use any of my previous components and had to go for two new monitors (with a possible greater resolution than 1920x1080)

Anyhooo - I put your suggestion into a big norwegian retailer, no AX650 in stock so chose the 750, changed the SSD for a 256Gb and added a 24" 1920x1080 BenQ. Came out at 17.336,00 norwegian kroner } 1881,43 GBP.

So, are you telling me to ditch my ram and GPU? They wont cope with the tasks at hand? What about a Crossfire solution with 2x cards?

Upgrading the ram may be worthwhile but your GPU is perfectly fine for your intended use.

I would suggest getting an IPS panel monitor. They look sooo much better compared to other monitors. Dell, iiyama and LG have pretty awesome IPS panel monitors

Im a bit confused as to choise of GPU. Theres a pretty big leap between the GTX670 and the HD7770..... Did u mean pairing it for CrossfireX?
If i need a more powerful GPU, think i still will like to go for a Radeon solution

Black/red motherboard suggestions?

Did you say you already had a 7770? If so that card will be good for you if you do not plan on doing any hard core gaming. If you want some better gaming performance go with a 7800 or 7900 series card. As for red and black motherboards you will be limited to either a Asus ROG board or an Asrock z77 Professional.

well, guess it was never going to get easy building this...lol.
Unless I come over an black/red ATX-MoBo, guess ill have to go for an all out black or worst case scenario black/grey colourscheme.

I would go for the Dell U2412 or U2410 since I'm biased towards dell

the ASUS E-ATX is only 1.00" wider and fits the 600t just fine. many google
images showing with\without water cooling options as well.
my ASUS MIVE-Z fits my fractal design arc midi just fine. the wire pass-throughs
don't line-up (didn't when ATX), but its in there and works. will fit the FD
R4 as well.

thank you. unless the mobo tray is butted up to the ODD or HDD cages, fitting
the E-ATX shouldn't be an issue for the 650D, 600T, or R4

@ airdeano - Thx a lot - Please advice - do eATX mb´s use same standoffs as ATX? Or do i need to get glued? Otherwise I would love to use the Asus Extreme with my R4. Most parts should be arriving today, waiting for the SMS from postoffice. Have the opportunity to return any part within first 30 days. My other consern was the actual fitting of the H100i - there seems to be next to no room to navigate up there and have been advised to use low-profile ram and MBs with low heatsinks - what u think? Anyway...Guess ill find out shortly.....

my ASUS MIVE-Z fit just fine, using the ATX stand-offs. no fuss, no muss.
bolted in with no issues.

the H100(i) can be fitted with minimal modding. the upper roof mount has to be
shifted to the left with new mount holes.. done. some have even installed the
H100 in the front fan bay (not a fan of, BTW).
low profile RAM in the Midi, Mini, or R4 is un-necessary. the cooling solutions
pass by with no interferences.

here is a H100 mounted in push/pull with massive spacing under these
installed G Skill Sniper modules.

@airdeano : Thx for the info and pics. I`m only doing push SP120´s for the H100i. Adding AF140 Quiet in the back and floor and dual AF140 Quiet in the front. Was hoping to avoid drilling the case - not a big issue, but would be nice. Just saw a youtube-video where it was mounted with a Maximus V Formula. Very tight and some sacrifice but it got in there.....
