Sorry for massive post. I like spacing things out. Thanks for any help!!!

no point in spending the extra money for 2600k mate, get the 2500k virtually exactly the same but the 2600k might get a few more mhz not much tho

case: look at the nzxt phantom, corsair 600t or the fractal r3

get everything cheaper from diff sites tbh mate.. SCAN.co.uk, ebuyer.co.uk, both of which have good customer service, just had to send a 460 back for full refund to ebuyer and no problems what so ever, and very helpful on the phones and emails. They also have amazing next day delivery ordered my sound card at 10.30pm and it arrived next day at 11, so a 12.5 hour delivery time :|.

get the 2500 poss? and then spend out and get a better case imo, similar case is the lancool - cheap or the One I would get if i where you both of these are very good cases and built by lianli so...the best in quality imo. the one with the window is powder coated inside too!

The case and SSD are investments as they can last afew builds so its worth inveting in them?

AND deff shop around cos you could save a bundle, INFACT look at some bundle kits

Thanks for the advice so far, although I am cemented on a FEW things, like the processor. I might be completely deluded and wrong, but I just want one that can work properly and the best, even if the difference is minute. As for everything else, thanks for the suggestions! Looking into it as we speak. As for the case, just wanted a non glowy (LED-less) one at a decent price, of course if it looks good, and the ones suggested seem fantastic.

I use those programs *EVERY* day, ALL day. It's my LIFE. Literally, it is VITAL to my University course, and is the area I will be going into. And I often use them all at the same time. 4 or 5 programs at once. Just to get the point accross

But I do. And I want, eventually, to venture into light overclocking, and see what it can do, so I want a processor that can, hence why I wank the 2600k. I say I play games, but that's actually rare, as I don't really have the time. That's the main reason. And...It's not a massive industrial computer or anything, so I want an affordable one, want to stay around £1000. I don't want to change too much as well, just because it is mainly supposed to be me building. If I just end up with somebody else's list, I won't get anywhere. Thanks for any help that might come, dispite my stupid means and head.

The extra threads on the 2600k will come in handy with the programs you use. The C300 SSD is wonderful, I have one in both my work machines. Case looks good, but take a look at the CoolerMaster CM690 II Advanced. It does have an LED fan in the front, but there is a button on top to turn that off.

What power supply do you plan on going with? Take a look at Corsair's line.

Indeed, I AM leaning heavily towards corsair already...and I thought the threads would help. Will please me. And another case suggestion, wahey! Thanks a lot!

I understand I do alot of Cinema 4D and photoshop.. If I was you i'd look into an i7 970 possibly.. Might be a bit close to your budget though :-/ .. But if you do then you have more processing cores which also adds quicker renders :-)

Just had a scout around here is 8gb of same ram but on 2 GB stickson £85 same make same speeds I believe saved you £25 alrdy

or 2 sets of these and saves you another £5?

I personally only buy crusial as its well made and has never given me any trouble, And well priced... its been years now. Have a look at these, might take your fancy?

ask anyone on this forum.... there is next to no differece on those two cpus ask anyone who has benched them both....

most of your stuff that you want to do ARE gpu intensive

and you wanted LIGHT overclocking, 2500k can go to 5ghz, is that enough for you?

and get the nhd14 if you want really cool temps and ample room for overclocking

Intresting..thanks for the links. I THINK im going to go for a duel-channel 8GB though, just because IF in future I want more, I'll have more slots free. I am quite silly at times, and don't make enough compromises really. Perhaps when I know more. I'll look into it still though. I can't let anything rest. Also, the power supply I was looking at was THIS, although I have heard that the cables are really think, and so can get in the way in MidTower cases...

Solid choice. I would hope the cables are long enough in a mid tower. Can't say for sure though. I've used the TX650 and TX850 in a few builds and both have had sufficient cable lengths.

Aha..Thanks a LOT. This has helped hugely. More than anywhere else iv'e asked, actually. The power supply is sort of what im worried about the most, because...well, you know what it can do. Never had it, but I want to learn this properly, so ive read about some of the problems. A quality power supply was one of my first picks, actually. And that Coolmaster CM-690 looks...amazing. And that size for that price....Wow. THANK YOU EVERYONE. Lots.

just throwing in last notes dunno if it;s too late. but have a look at nvidia's workstation cards(quadro range) if you've little intention of playing games, they have one hell of a price tag but they are becoming more and more utilized all the time specifically with adobe releasing the mercury rendering system. it basically splits the processing between the GPU and CPU the example they used in the presentation was the 4600? but it;s a 1k card :/ perhaps one or 2 steps down from that would suit? For the power supply I personally went for corsairHX750 although i was going to go for coolermaster silent pro which since buying the corsair has become a bit of a up and comer for it's price lol(sods law)that's about all i could add.

oh and the 690 ii advanced is a great case tis one i have

lol
