... I CAN UPGRADE..

Well, I'll come clean. I've had a Socket A Setup for years now.. never upgraded due to financial reasons, and I was happy with what I had.

I've been keeping on for a new computer to my parents for ages. They said okay, but you got to wait...

I've been waiting for 2 years ~.

Now lastnight, I had a little nap.. and I semi-woke up and my Mum said.. 'Jake, bring my Bag down here please'. So I did.. I stood there and she handed me her Debit Card.. Her words next stunned me, 'Get your computer stuff then'.

I thought I was in a dream.. but I wasn't :D Ordered all the stuff last night :D

So this is what I ordered:

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300

Gigabyte DS3

GeIL PC6400C5 2x1GB Sticks

Seagate 7200.10 200GB HDD

22" Iiyama Monitor

Upgrading from (You won't believe your eyes):

AMD Sempron 2400+ @ 1.3GHz (It Underclocked itself for some reason)

Foxconn Socket A Motherboard

Generic PC3200 2x512MB Sticks

GeForce 5200 AGP

2x80GB Maxtor IDE HDD's

Absolutely Crappy Case

19" LG Flatron (Only good thing about this setup ATM)

Now, I've beared this for years.. on CSS at low settings. I've bought many games, and it couldn't even run it for 2 mins without annoying the hell outta me, BF2 is one of them.

I ordered all my stuff lastnight, and should be here tomorrow/Wednesday, can't wait.

I will do a build log, with piccars.

Also, I was hoping I could get some moral help from everyone here, if I get in con-fuff-le during the build. This is the first 'proper' computer I have built. I believe I am confident to built this. I've seen many reviews/threads on builds, I have it all memorized.

Sorry for long thread.. just wanted to share the excellent news :D
 
Looks like an awsom setup mate:D.

You seriously will love chucking CSS @ everything on full, highest rez you can and still getting 150fps:p
 
Great choices mate, and congratz on the new build too!! I don't think I could have done a better job on the parts selection myself, you should really enjoy that new rig.

Plz update with pictars as soon as u can :)

Gaming is going to be a whole new experience for u! :yumyum:
 
How did u ever play css on your old system?

The new setup looks sweet, cant wait to see pics and benchies
 
Fair play to you Bloomers for bearing with your old rig. You deserve that new beast! Have fun building it and tearing through games :D

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!! Don`t let the delivery people win !!!!!!!!!!!

I swear they have competitions between themselves on who can abort the most deliveries in a week to see how many customers they can make collect their own parcels !!!

I`ve caught them coming to the house with just a card !!

Well, my Mum is in anyway tomorrow spring cleaning.. so alls well.

Knowing my luck though, some of it will come Thurs.. :(
