Faulty GPU

Not me, by Ebuyer.....

Now they Say:

"
The damage to the item is that the heat pipe is bent. When we first had the card back it was not damaged in this way and if the item had of been damaged upon returning to you then this would have needed to have been reported at that time.

As this item is now damaged, it voids the warranty and we are unable to do anything further with it"

Well you know what there doing is covering there own a**, when you first sent it back did you post it or went to the shop itself.

I knew it wasn't done by you dude :)

This, however, is typical of Ebuyer and why I don't buy from them. They thought it was OK to send me £3500 worth of hardware in thin cheap cardboard boxes with a courier like Yodel (the absolute worst in the UK).

After having bought my rig I then looked at reviews and stuff like this seems to happen an awful lot with Ebuyer.

Unless you took time stamped photographs of it being packed it comes down to your word against theirs. Not much you can do sadly.

Yeah Cheers Man,

That's the last I'm ever using Ebuyer looks like Ile have to crack open my piggy bank and get another card now!

Don't think I can, however My sister works for Lloyds Bank she may be able to do something, and what I though of doing anyhow is to upgrade my Graphics Card now to a 390 XFX and ordered a new PSU, I will try and wooo Asus to see if they can help out and if they do I can sell that card on Ebay.

I would try and avoid XFX unless you have no other choice in that price bracket.

Is well worth the extra twenty quid. It was the same price for a while but it's gone up a little lately.

Are Sapphire better for support issues if anything goes wrong?

I'm not spending £400 on a card no chance.

The law in the UK states that for two years the responsibility is with the retailer dude. Sapphire are based in the far east so you would not deal directly with them. RMA would be with OCUK who have really gotten their crap together over the past couple of years and are now excellent.

There aren't many companies you can deal with directly, but Gigabyte are based in the UK and will accept RMA. MSI will when pushed, but they're based in Holland so postage = many pounds.

The best part about OCUK is that they have a forum. So in cases where something unfair had happened regarding an RMA all you need to do is complain 'on forum' and they usually sort it all out.

From what I have read and seen the Sapphire Nitro is the 390 to have. The quality is excellent and it overclocks very well with great temps (unlike XFX).

As I say, more than worth the £20 extra it will cost you :)

Cheers for the advice, Ive also shopped with Novatech as well, I found Overclockers to be great as well.
I can't believe that Ebuyer are total mupets for messing me around I bet I wouldn't got that treatment with Overclockers?

Novatech are not known for great customer service either dude.

The absolute best place to shop at is Amazon. They have legendary customer service, mostly because the people working in the RMA department couldn't give a chuff what it is you are returning and they don't pick the peanuts out of the poo.

They immediately refund you and then send a courier to collect the item.

With companies like Novatech ETC they are all trying to protect their backsides and will quibble over almost anything (like the experience you've had with Ebuyer).

Amazon RMA dept couldn't give a toss if you are returning a blender or a GPU dude, all the same to them.

The best "actual PC place" to buy from now with regards to customer service is OCUK. I have had bad experiences with Scan and Ebuyer.

I couldn't agree more on that dude, I've used Amazon, Overclockers (I see Tom on his videos mentions them too) so I will go with Overclockers on this purchase, I ordered the PSU from Amazon that's coming on Tuesday.

Good stuff :) yeah OCUK have really stepped up since they were bought out by Caseking :)

I ordered a B grade monitor from them. 30" Hazro IIRC as I was going to go 1600p before changing my mind and going 4k. Any way, it arrived without a base and had a line going down the screen. They sent DPD to collect and refunded me everything so I really couldn't ask for more than that.

No one beats Amazon though. I bought an Asrock motherboard and the VRMs went pop. No quibbles, no arguing full refund. I also bought this belt sander from them and left it sitting in the box for about 11 months before trying to use it. It went bang, again full refund absolutely no questions asked.

OCUK have the best customer service IMO and I don't mind shelling out an extra few quid for their excellent customer service (plus the Haribos) as for Ebuyer avoid them like you would somebody with an STD I had nothing but issues with Ebuyer and I shamed them on their FB page which I dont normally do

Really? I have been dealing with Novatech for close to 15 years. The few RMA requests I have had to deal with have been smooth and hassle free. Up to and including a free upgrade on a CPU that was DOA as they had no stock of the same one.

I used to order from them years ago. Had a bad experience, never bought from them again.

Same goes for any company. If I get burnt I don't normally return. Things may have improved over the years but it puts me off for life.

I only order from Scan now if I am desperate and I always make sure to order through Ebay (I never buy directly from Scan only on their Ebay store) so that if they get funky I just call in Paypal to take care of it.
