Fastest 4GB 1066MHz DDR2

Does anyone have any good experiences of highly overclockable DDR2 1066MHz RAM. Needs to be a 4GB set.

I've read about this hitting around 1140MHz which isn't too bad.

http://www.pcgd.co.uk/geil-4gb-ddr2-1066-cl50-dual-channel-evoone-ret-14776-p.asp

I'm just a bit sick of my Flex II.... It doesn't work on stock on my system when the CPU is overclocked past say 3.3GHz. It apparently has much dislike for the X38 chipset which happens to be on my Maximus Formula.

Spose I could just wait until I go I7.... Thing is I could flog this RAM to somebody who could actually use it properly and hit 1200MHz with it while I could buy some different RAM and get to say 1150MHz. It would only cost me around £10 too I'd guess.

1200mhz is really hard to get too, just remember DDR2 1066mhz is an overclock of 800mhz and your overclocking more sooo, i recommend finding ddr2 1066mhz

with the lowest volts needed for 1066mhz

try corsair dominators or them geils because they look sweeeeeett

oops, ignore me.

Ill be silling my DDR2, which I had running on a 1:1 with CPU, 800mhz, 4-3-3-6..

Cracking ram, I have 4gb of it.. and did all that on my maximus.

Fastest DDR2 at 1066 would be the Crucial Ballistix D9's :D

I haven't pushed them past 1066 I think but they certainly do 1066 @ 4-4-4-12 (Even 4-4-4-4 suprisingly) and I think I'll be seeing how fast they can go when I get my system all up in a case.

They do get very very hot though. You could always buy the Corsair 9136 modules :P

It's like £200 for 4gb of them I think though and hardly anywhere sells them.

Mine are D9's :P

They are absolutely awesome.. Send me a PM if you're interested Bungral, they are golden Chips!

But what make :P

They are great yeah. I'm not even sure if mine are D9's but they get bloody hot so I assume they are :D

never been with curcial before, but everyone i know seems to have them, hmmmmmmm maybe its a sign

The fact that they beat the Corsairs in max overclocks and give slightly faster speeds (as in benchmark tests etc) at stock swung me over to them.

That and the lifetime warranty from Crucial UK :D

Cheap rma postage if they ever die (touch wood :().

The RAM I have now is rated to run at 1150MHz stock and the couple of reviews I've read have had them up to 1200MHz.. I know it's hard to reach, but this RAM can do it on the right chipset (which isn't mine.)

Also I pretty much narrowed it down now to the following:

G.Skill Nice and cheap.

Corsair Dominators

I tried to find a 2 x 2GB kit of Ballistix but couldn't see them anywhere?? Where did you get yours? How much would you be looking for them?

Wow...

You got the best of the bunch! I hate you :D

This is going a little off topic, but Im making my point about how good they are...

They will do (with all 4 sticks in, so you can get more with two, on stock volts)

800mhz 4-3-3-6 or 1111mhz 5-5-5-15..

Well this is the fastest DDR2 thread :p

Bungral you can't get Ballistix in 2GB sticks on DDR2 lest you get PC6400's. The 2GB sticks exist on DDR3 though.

I found 2gb sticks harder to clock, or maybe because I was using 4 of them or maybe just cos I got a crappy bunch.

Nice mate.. Didn't think of the 800MHz Ballistix and just clock them up..

Well that's pretty much what I thought judging by the fact I couldn't find anything on the Crucial website .

Thing with 4 sticks is that if one of them is duff, then the rest will fail their overclock :(.

I would think about taking your Flex II off you, but aren't they too big to put 4 sticks in?

I can get mine up 2 1175mhz on the X48 chipset which I though were just good X38's.

Na man you can only use 2 of those sticks at a time. That and the fact I've agreen to sell them tomorrow to a mate at work for £70. :)

Not bad! It's a pitty I have to run mine at 1066 atm, waiting for the Q9650 to come down in price so I can clock it to around 4ghz and the ram up near 1200mhz.
