Fans for H100i?

I replaced my stock H100i fans for some SP120 (3 pin) should I of gone for the 4 pin edition for better fan control from my mobo or would they do fine.
Noob question I know but the stock were 4 pin and would like to know would there be much difference in varible speed control between using 3 or 4 pin fans on the h100i.
Feedback would be amazing

You don't really need to control the speed.
Get some fan speed reducers and set the fans to run at 7v with something like this:

Far easier to run fans at lower speeds straight from molex, you don't need to have them ramp up and down all the time.

agreed, plus wiring the fans to the motherboard would be a pig to make look neat.

my fans are powered by 6 pin power (to sata) for the fans and the pump, the only thing that is connected to my board is the cpu fan controller cable. Soshould be fine i had some horrible sounds from the rig tonight after i installed my fans, reinstalled my pump and cleaned my rad. But found it was one of my new fans but after getting the hammer out its all gravy baby. When in doubt get the hammer out lol.

do you mean the USB connection for your h100i?
