F@H Score

So I've started folding and I'm getting a 69 with each fold. I also noticed that some people on the team can get 400+ point per fold. Is the point allocation random there something I'm doing wrong or is my hardware just horrible?

Not quite sure what you are asking but there are different WU's aka different points per WU,

what are you Folding with (hardware) ?

Also what are you using to calculate the points HFM.net or FAHspy ?

As ray said different work units have different points. Points can vary greatly depending on your hardware and which clients you run.

Zeals,

What hardware are you running? And what software (Operating System and Folding Clients) are you running on that?

We'll get you up to speed.

Sorry for the late reply. Ok I'm talking about the score thing when you go onto team statistics here, which is the page I get when I click on team statistics.

Wait there are different clients for F@H? I'm just using the one on the F@H website first one they recommended.

Also I'm currently just running on my laptop which has

4gigs of 1066MHz RAM

i7 720Q running at 1.6GHz

nVidia 230M overclocked to 700mhz Core and 948mhz Memory

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

The i7 should be running the SMP2 client available here.

If the GPU is CUDA capable it can run a GPU client available from the same page as above.

Check the Guide in the Redline folding section on this fourm for install help or post questions here.

G/L and welcome to the team!!

. Its average loaded temps is 74-86 degrees, i think. It is an XFX card stock cooler. This is where we bought it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-GeForce...1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1293419180&sr=8-1 the build quality is excellent. it's sad that XFX stopped making Nvidia cards. i talked to the seller and learnt they have over 50 in stock. they are selling a low power version, it's on amazon.

On the side of the card is a metal plate, it drops down and has an XFX logo to show off. it's fixed to the card with 2 screws, check they are tightened sufficiently as 1 of mine was loose. I fixed the metal plate to the underside of the card so there is more ventilation room between the card and the 480 above. The 480 heatsink is millimeters away from it. I got a fan aimed at the sides of the cards, angled away from the 480's fan. it helps.

I also think I should say thanks for all the advice from teh gurus on here, you know who you are

Well if she gets upset about the cost just let her know about the good cause and that you value her well being and than you are helping to find cures for diseases that could take her from you... It's easy to justify anything when you put it that way
