F@H fact of life ?

I'm using the F@H GPU tracker v2 and now happy with the PPD I get for my GPU (since I upgraded the card a week or so ago) BUT.........all of the WU's done on SMP with the exception of one have been "7200" and show points as "unknown" and the PPD as 0,0. They all complete 100% but no points given.

I was just wondering have I set something wrong or is this just a F@H fact of life ?

I have had a lot of the unknown WUs using GPU tracker, not for a while since I haven't folded for a while, but I did get points for them. They didn't show PPD in GPU tracker but I was definitely getting points for them becuse my points were updating on the team page on the Stanford site.

what is Folding at Home?

ive only discovered why my computer stops folding in the middle of the night SLEEP MODE. i wake up expecting a few wu's done and there is nothing lol. also mine seems to take FOREVER to show the ppd

I got this as well a few days ago, switched to v7 client, all works great now

At the moment I encourage everyone to move over to the V7 client, atleast for CPU. Setting the client type to advanced under the current WU distribution often gives smaller work units so if something goes wrong you don't lose as much CPU work time or points.

Also the V7 client is the one that Stanford are officialy supporting from now on.

Please don't forget your passkey for bonus points. If you are new to folding, get one here

I did put the extra core option in for advanced and small packets but it just ignored them and gave me aweful 7611s and the like. 9 and 11k on my 8120s when they could be earning over 20k on a good WU

I left the packet size alone, all I changed was the client-type to advanced.

It has been said that different work units can be sent out to different CPUs, so maybe it just intel being given the nice small WUs on a regular basis at the moment.

Thank you for all the advice. I have downloaded the installer and will install it as soon as the existing WU's complete.

Well V7 Client has been running for several hours now, and I can confirm that I for one am getting smaller WU's than I was. Both the SMP and GPU clients appear to be running well now with "credits" being shown against both clients (and not just on the GPU that I was getting with V2 Tracker).
