Lots of news today. But one of the ones that took my fancy was that FEAR and City of Villains (two new Vivendi Studios titles).

Intel has revealed to us today that top new gaming titles, City of Villains from NCSoft, and F.E.A.R. from Vivendi are optimised for dual core processors.

Support will come, apparently, in the full retail release of both these titles. Intel demonstrated the two games on separate systems, one in the showcase area here and one in the digital entertainment keynote speech.

So that means that those who have the beauties (me soon :D), will get better performance. This is coming sooner than I first thought - maybe AMD were wrong to thing that the FX-57 will be king of gaming for a while to come? We'll see.

It seems Intel are pushing d/c support to the max - and hoping to up their profits in the meantime. Ah well - maybe my X2 is looking better investment already!! :D

Read all about it @ Bit-Tech

Yup, X2 might make its gaming debut earlie than expected... In that case I may have to start looking in to one as I was strategizing the purchase of my FX-55 before writing this message :)

I'm WAITING IT OUT.

RAWR.

I'm not getting any new partz until the new AMD SOCKET ><

I'm sourcing bits-n-pieces for a new dual core setup at the moment, it'll be great once more support for these processors gradually rolls out.

Sweet PV! Imma gonna get a 4400+ - how about you? :D

Yeah I'm looking that way at the moment too mate, but I'm also wanting to see what Intel has around the corner. I'm hearing some good things from that side of town :)

Yeah man! Looking forward to rocking a d/c and OC'ing that beatch! :D

I've been seeing pretty much the best results with the 3800+. 3GHz on AIR (Tt Big Typhoon)

The only way to get a good even oc out of an X2 is to remove the IHS, I'm afraid.

I've seen an X2 4400+ at 2.7GHz on stock cooling so that would make me perfectly happy. 2 x CPU @ 2.7GHz seems pretty damn good to me :D

EDIT: check XS here for one chap who had an X2 4400+ at 2.8 stock cooling, bench stable :D
