Extreme CPU Temps?

so how do you have the stock fan from the cpu ... was it a differant type of pre sealed unit and my rad is still cool to the touch running at 100% load on my cpu

Try downloading another application such as Realtemp just to make sure this isnt a bug with HWMonitor

Sounds like the pump on the crappy fake water cooler died, do I win internets for my speedy diagnosis?
The corsair should last longer, at least a few years.

@everyone else I reset the CMOS too, and the temp in the BIOS was 87 degrees and climbing once again.

I would suggest just turning the pc off altogether and not using it at all for the time being
Yeah, that's the plan until tomorrow when I get my H100i. Hopefully it'll be all better then.

It sounds as thought the cooler has died. There is no reason that it should be running at those temperatures, unless you got a REALLY bad chip, AND your cooler is dead.
I would recommend re-installing the intel box cooler, and new thermal paste to see if this helps. If this brings the temps back down, then you should be fine with the new Cooler you're getting.
If after changing to the new cooler (H100i was it?) solves the problem, we should know that the pump in that crappy all in one POS probably clunked out, and died.

I would plug it back in, but I kinda passed it along to someone else. Should have kept it in case something like this would happen. Once I get the H100i in tomorrow, I'd be glad to go over bios settings with someone if they're interested in going the extra mile for a stranger.

Aha, I'm very appreciative of everyone who's posted so far. I was in the middle of posting an introduction earlier when I accidentally closed out of the tab. I'll remake it within the next couple days, I plan on sticking around for a while.

thats good you start of asking lots of questions then a problem youve had solved will help someone else.
and id give you my intel unit but in the cost of sending it would be easier to buy another lol
if you have a maplins near by then i know we have a few intel heat sinks + fans for 10-25 quid might be worth keeping it as a spare
