External Storage recommendation

I have a Ruggedkey from LaCie and it's my 2nd one that gone bad in the last month. First one stop mounting and the current one is corrupting everything that i put on it as well locking the contents so they can't be deleted. The only Fix is to reformat the drive

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good External Storage Media that can be used between a PC and Mac?? I'm only keeping Adobe files on it.

USB 3 and works with Mac, PC and my bluray player, very respectable read/write speeds and doesn't need external power when used via USB 2.0 or 3.0 highly recommended (I'm getting another one soon)

how does that drive do with being carried around, like can i keep in my backpack and not worry about issues??
