External hdd??

I do have access to firewire/esata but they seem so expensive. £50-£60 seems a decent price to pay although I don't need any minimalist performance boosters etc. all I need it for is backing up stuff, storing movies etc.

Not sure which size to go for but I'd rather a quality make over an extra 40gb (200gb would be enough i'd say)

I've never been in the market for one of these before but it'll come in handy when I format.

not sure on price points, but have you checked buying a cheap enclosure and buying a hard drive to go with it?

That i haven't ;)

Do i just get any enclosure + any hdd and work from there? Im total oblivious to storage apart from I like my seagate 7200.10 a lot more than my previous maxter

Me and ham were in PCWorld the other day and buying a cheapo enclosure + HDD separately worked out cheaper so im sure it would be even more so online

So u just get the enclosure - fit the sata from the enclosure to the hdd, put the hdd inside then connect w/e to the ports of the external?

just make sure that you look at what internal connection the enclosure has. so if its sata, get a sata hdd, ide get a ide hdd.

I'd get a sata one, with a esata connection. loads quicker than usb.
