Experiments in phase control

I have hooked up a fine adjustment hydraulic needle valve

To the evap on cascade 2

Which can be found here: http://www.extremeprometeia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5753

The evap is being feed by a 2.3mm cap tube into the valve and then

Out of the valve to a 1/4 copper tube and into the evap

So far it is early days but With out load I can change the temp from -68 to -97

And get it to stay at any temp I choose in between

How this would work with a load I have no idea as yet

But it will be interesting to find out

here are the picks

Wow nice work M8, you have come a long way in a short space of time, well done and keep up all the good work as it is nice to see these builds as you progress

Looking shweeeeet! :D

By adjusting the temperature lower, does it hold the temperature better or worse when under load?

Nice what highside pressure are you getting??

high pressure is between 100 psi and 150 (2nd stage)depends on the valve setting

the hx has to play catch up if i make real big movments like from closed to wide open also the comp can suffer some flooding

but with slower movements it is ok

havent got to load testing yet

that will be the real test here

Sounds good cant wait to see what happens under load

How have you set the h/x up are you using a tev??

yes i am using a tev and i dont think the hx would have worked with out one in this case

with the swings in 2nd stage pressure

Yeah thats why I asked I would assume it wouldn't take too long for the tev to catch up would it like a min or two

for sure

to be honest i dont think i will ever use cap tube on a hx again

i have been so impressed with the tes2 performance and there is no fu{king around it just works and i like that:D

update

just put the evap set back on cascade 2 with some insulation and some

plumbing bits from under the sink:D

just charging it now any luck will hook it up tomorrow

Looking good M8, cant wait to see what sort of temps your get with this setup and how long it will hold these temps.
