Excel`s Conditional Formating.

Thought I`d throw this open to u guyz whilst I look into this this weekend.

I`ve got a spreadsheet, something like:

...A...B..C -> H

1

2

3

4

5

.

.

.

2400

In column C there are a list of unique values, lets say L40000 to S50000, not in sequence or anything, if u like - LETTER, num, num etc. (rest of the A,B,D etc are descriptions `n stuff).

Now, these values in C, the item identifying values, can fall into 3 catagories - of which are not specified by the sheet, but collected into 3 groups by external factors.

Hence I can have another part of the sheet:

...A...B...C...D...E ->

1

2

3

4

5

.

.

.

... where a list is in A, C and E. A C & E comprising of all the values in the original C, but split into the 3 columns here depending on the external factors. Or for the sake of the exercise, they`re randomly put into A C & E.

What I`m wanting to do, and I`m pretty sure conditional formatting is the way to do it, as I can do it for 1 cell, but what I`d like to do is to format the 1st sheet (color wize) depending on if the values of C column are in the 2nd sheets` A, C or E columns.

So the whole of the 1st sheets` C column is one of 3 colors depending on A, C, E on the 2nd.

hmmmm....
